Manish | Hey Manish, great to see you too buddy! We will try to help you as much as possible. Here are some inputs from my side, however if you could post a more detailed profile possibly we can give you more suggestions (you can PM me if you'd prefer that):
GMAT : You've got an above average score even amongst the IT applicants, that is, atleast in the last two batches
Not sure about your ECAs and other differentiators, but those are some things which I feel should be emphasized the most to set you apart from other applicants, and more so, other IT applicants.
I don't think any attempt to differentiate based on technical aspects of your job would work, simply because the ad-com would really not know/care about those...

Looks like competition is getting tougher for IT guys as most of the applicants are from the same pool.
Do I stand a fair chance with my GMAT score or I should try to take it again ?

Mukesh | Hi Mukesh,
Here is my honest assesment of your profile:
1. GMAT : Though lower than the batch average, and more so wrt IT applicants' average, it has touched the psycological barrier of 700, so it may not be counterproductive if you bring some other interesting attributes to the table. A GMAT score of 740 or so for your profile would have worked very well otherwise
2. Years of workex : While we did have some admits at this exp level last year, you'll have to really crack the interviews and bring in a "WOW" factor for ad-com
3. ECAs : They are pretty interesting, and can give you a leverage if you highlight them adequately (with examples) in your essays

From the posts so far and info at IIMC website we can see the avg profiles of PGPEX.
However If anybody could help withme some specific info that would be great
1. How many with 6-7 years of exp could make it to PGPEX and their other info like GMAT range, domain (MANUFACTURING, GOVT, etc.),acads & Extra currics

Rgds,
vinson | Well, I think it will be very difficult to provide everybody's acads and extra-curricular details here, but here is something which may help. There are around 12-13 people in that experiance band, average GMAT of this group is pretty much same as the overall average of 710, give or take 20 points, most of them are from IT. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to alttitude For This Useful Post:

Thx in advance | Given the diversity element and relatively lower work-ex, I think anything close to 690 should be good for an i/v call...but you should realize that we have had people with 14 years work-ex in govt sector who are a part of current batch and had GMAT in the range of 740...it all depends on "relative" advantage amongst candidates of similar profile...
