What I feel in this analysis is assumptions (70% for 770+, 50% for 700+) are itself the conclusion (leaving 15% for 700-). but still good timepass till we get the facts from IIMC itself.

Going by Amit's numbers, we should have 48*20 = 960 to 48*18=864 total applications.

25+ are 770+ GMAT.
Considering 70% of them will definitely recieve I/V call, 17 are gone.
remaining 125+ are 700+ GMAT
Considering 50% of them will definitely recieve I/V call, 65 are gone.
So that still leaves at least 110 interview calls for people with less than 700+ GMAT score.
In all, we have about 800 people with GMAT score of less than 700+. That means only 14% - 15% of the people with the GMAT score less than 700+ will get a call. This effectively means that IIMC is laying a lot of emphasis on the GMAT score, which is contrary to the common belief.
I think there has to be some other mechanism. I am working on that and will post it.

You make certain kind of assumptions, you reach corresponding conclusions; you alter the assumptions, then you reach different kind of conclusions.
Well, if the numbers posted are true, then thelikelihood of any applicant getting IW call is about 20 to 25% (ratio of expected calls to number of applicants).
How much extra weight will the applicants with above 700 GMAT score be given, that will modify the likelihood of being called for IW; will it increase to 30% or 50% or 70% or only marginally is simply a matter of importance given to GMAT; similarly to what extent the likelihood of those below 700 GMAT score being called will decrease below the average 20-25% is once again predicated on the importance given GMAT score.
One thing can be told with reasonable degree of certainity that the likelihood of those applicants with less than 700 GMAT score will be less than the average (20-25%) and for those with 700+ score it will be more than the average, but how much less or how much more respectively is simply blind speculation
The likelihood of a particular applicant being called will depend on also other factors like your experience,career progression, essays, academic performance, ease of employability post- PGPEX etc.

It could also mean that all the desperate souls like us have flocked the websitse and slowed it down (without any list being uploaded today)

IIMC should declare a specific date rather than "second half of August"
