Hi All,
Had my visa interview (vanderbilt university) today at Chennai.
Only 2 questions
1. Why did u go to the US earlier (had gone as part of my Masters)
2. Why do you want to do an MBA, considering you already have a Masters degree.
I guess the fact I had already been to the US helped a lot, so he gave me my visa.
As for the documents had taken my Degree certs, Mark Sheet, Offer letter, Work experience certificates, financial documents and a letter from my CA (verification of my funds)
Luckily they didnt ask me any questions abt my wife already in the US and also didnt bother to verify my finanial documents.
All the best to others.

Hey Vignesh,
Congrats for your visa!
If possible can you clarify a couple of things for me - Can i use my property valuations(plots, flats) as proof of funds during my VISA. My dad owns a property and i want to use it as source of funds during my interview.
- I have a US co-signor , who is willing to help me with the loan.
Can i show this loan, assuming the processing is complete before my
Visa, during my Visa interview. I got a feedback from one of my
friends that one can't show a US loan during my VISA. Please clarify. - Second, can i show the funds from my family members, who are in the
US currently during my VISA interview? Again, i was told that you
might be grilled on showing funds from people in the US | | | | | | | |

My friend paid the fee at HDFC recently.

Hi
as for using property valuations, i dont think u can use it as a proof of funds for visa for your first year. For your first year expense u need to show liquid cash like Fixed Deposits, Bank Balance, stocks ( stocks i am not sure heard u cant show it as well).
As for property valuations u can use it justify ur expense for your second yr saying u plan to sell it or what ever to support ur 2nd yr expense. also remember since the property is not under ur name u should also carry a affidavit of support probably in a stamp paper from ur dad saying he plans to support u for ur expenses ..blah blah....
or the other option is show ur I 20 to a bank n u can ask them to give a letter saying u plan to take loan from them for ur first yr expenses... which i think might be a better option than showing a US cosigner ( iamn ot sure whether u can show a US co signer or not, but should be possible).. but i dont think its a good idea to mention abt family members in US n taking loan from them... suggest u try to avoid it...
or what u can do is ask ur uni whther they provide loan n if so u can use it.. some times what happens is I 20 if u take a loan from Uni they will mention it just as funds from school so the visa guy wont know exactly whether ur taking a loan from the school or not..
hope it help
