Suggestion on Schools to aim for - 29-03-2008, 12:02 PM

Hello friends,

I wish to hear some suggestions on what schools I can aim for (2009 admit) with the following profile.

I am primarily looking for some best schools that I have a high chance of getting in with the following basic profile.
I wish to do my MBA asap to prep up my future plans.
I am more inclined towards a shorter MBA (typically less than 18 months) bcos of the opportunity cost involved

My brief profile:

* UG in Engineering
* 1 year family business (Small Sized) - India
* Masters in Engineering from Europe
16 months full time experience in good Telcos as part of my Masters education(Internship, Master thesis etc.) in Europe
* 19 months full time experience (will be 32 months in April "09) as a Technical Specialist in an MNC in Europe
Extra curricular: Alumni association coordinator. Thats mostly it.

Can speak decent German.
Can get some good recos.
Preparing for my GMAT currently.

Many thanks in advance and good luck for all aspirants

@kanewilliam

you have a good profile.. Your work ex is a little on the lower side as most schools avg about 5 yrs. But school do take in ppl with less work ex.

It is a little hard to give you target schools without your GMAT, but assuming you get a 700+ you can try the following schools

1. Cornell - has a one yr MBA for ppl with MS in tech field -- I feel this is your best match
2. Purdue - can be your backup
3. Tepper - has an early graduation option saving you a semester.
4. University of Rochester - has a spring start saving you a summer
5. Columbia - spring start

Tell me more about what you want to do after your MBA.. then i can give you more schools that fit your profile
