MBA in UK.. Is it really worth it? - 20-03-2008, 03:17 PM

I had few questions regarding pursuing an MBA from UK
since i have no work experience i would be looking for an admit from universities like Cardiff( course in logistics )....
What are the job opportunities in UK after completing the course..

Is it wise to come to india and look for a job ?
what can i expect for logistics in the indian market?

if i complete mba from uk and come to india and get paid similar to the ppl who completed there mba from india then what is the use of spending so much money.....

could someone please help me answer these questions or if someone could provide me a link where i could find all the answers to my questions

Thank you

http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/intern...-of-gyans.html (MBA Admissions - thread of gyans)
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/intern...ance-desk.html (Phoren B-school Assistance Desk)

definitely, ROI for MBA from india is higher than that from UK...
u need to do a lot of analysis before taking up any ddecision.

Even i have been looking for an MBA abroad and after much research i found out that ROI wise Asian Bschools are much better than most European Bschools , Except for the 3-4 top UK schools no UK bschool has a great brand in Asia.

Also working in the european countries would not make too much sense now as most of the high value work is being gradually outsourced to Asian countries like India, China, Singapore, Thailand etc.

So i would not recommend an MBA from Europe or UK for that matter.!

Regards.

AMBA (associaition of MBA's in the UK)

"As the MBA is a post-experience, postgraduate degree, students admitted onto an accredited MBA must have a minimum of 3 years work experience"

A lot of UK MBA's have this is a requirement as its needed for AMBA accreditation.

Association of MBAs: The Association provides a network for MBAs, business schools and employers. We also offer an important forum for the exchange of knowledge, ideas and best practice.

Also, ROI is relative to your goals. You can't assess ROI unless your goals are clear.

Question Re: MBA in UK.. Is it really worth it? - 30-11-2008, 11:09 AM

Hallo Guys,
This’s Piyush from India planning for an MBA from UK but I am kind of confused about which universities are worth trying for. I am not planning for GMAT but will be giving my IELTS. Also I have a work-ex of 3.5 years in pharma sector. Kindly suggest me some university which will be good for me, without asking the GMAT score. And how will it be when I’ll return India? Will it hold the same value in India too?
And which place’s better for an MBA UK or Singapore.
Thanks.
