Re: AIM Manila 2008-09: Final Admits!! - 20-03-2008, 12:04 PM

I have spent 4 full days.. reconfirming the status of the insti..
My sources: AIM 2007 may passout: Regional Manager of a reputed multinational: board of director(Global trust bank).. IIML professor(9members in all)

all have confirmed that AIM is superior in quality of education and the rigor is best in class: placements are 100% with multiple offers:If u dont hav IIMA B in ur kitty then go for AIM(that too ROI wise and not pedagogy wise...u hav to decide whtz imp for u)

There are many rejects, It is jus indian mindset(which suks at times) which does not give value to wht is achieved without much trouble(this may be due to low self esteem too ... mujhe mil gaya.?? must be somethin fishy)...if the same school was in EU and had rejected ur appli... u would hav considered the inti la supreme ;P(pun intended)

people joining AIM have rejected NUS and ISB with scores like 760... so please respect your intuition..and research about the schools in the same league

if some of us think its not worth while... plzz reject the offer... this is totally ur call and ur level of desperation for knowledge and an MBA.. this may vary..
no doubt.. I am selectin this school cos i don hav a harvard or an LBS call..

LET THE BEST MEN AND WOMEN GO TO AIM.. AND HELP IT REDEEM ITS LOST GLORY(IN THE INDIAN MIND)...
i had applied thru gmat score... so i know well the value of getting the call

people who are here with XAT scores its a bonus for them and totally their call to weigh their options...

Dont intend to hurt anyone.... plzz don judge me...
all the best to all...

if it is to be...it is up to me!!

Re: AIM Manila 2008-09: Final Admits!! - 20-03-2008, 12:05 PM

also dont forget that their are 2 batches so 100 is a safe call..
colleges like MICA which is a premier college in INdia...has called 450+ people for the final gd/pi after two rounds of screening.... for some 80-100 seats...I converted it.. but don feel its a place for a serious mba with IT background (awesom for people in media... u jus wont gel in there if u r not super-creative and footloose...would hav gone for it.. if i was a fresher..brand mgmt cud be nice and kinda my thing) and spending 2 yrs and 10+lakh of rupees..

AIM has called XAT students cos they want more penetration in india specially in the times of recession, and their latest tie up wid XLRI. I know many people who dropped their plans of an US mba cos of the recession(the US govt has confirmed the recession.. this is jus not a slump in the market... its big time)

One question, if quality and status is questioned why do u think premere schools like IIMABC,XLRI etc, US schools like wharton etc would tie up with AIM...not to forget Harvard, the founding member of AIM in asia...

please go thru the history of the school provided in the website
AIM

I also converted SPJCM last year... written test...5 interviews et all..
and dropped the idea.. cos whtz the point of a global mba... wid a class full of indians.. and teachers called from SPJIMR in india.. and getting placed in india...

its just like paying 15 lacs for a paid holiday in dubai...
i didnt want that... i will surely holiday in dubai whn i have arrived in life..

Your post was kinda bashing but it is also a "feel good" post . Thanks for contacting people and giving us the info . You cannot mistake people too , i totally understand them . First AIM started giving surprise calls through XAT which only some b-graded schools do in india . Secondly we dont have recent graduates coming and helping us with first hand info . We dont have the placement stats of the recent batch and what is really behind this new batch . You know how our schools cook up things . And the fact that we got to spend big money added to these doubts . But then dont forget , with all these doubts there is not even one who has planned to reject the admit yet .

Again thanks for the info , i think it cleared quite a few doubts.

the may batch is not the first time its happening.... last year also they had two batches.. i figure that out cos i have talked to mr. rahul maheshwari whos from the May 2007 batch...

ya.. i agree they should hav called on CAT .. but XAT scores here are all at least 96%lers.. so i hope we will have quality people there...

Hi,
First of all, Congratulationsto all who have been selected.
I know this is a thread for the final admits, But I think you guys are in the best position to clear a few of my doubts.

Actually, I missed takin the AIMAT in December and thus taking it next week.
So, Can you guys please tell me about the structure of the exam??
level of difficultyof questions asked??
if 1 is able to complete it in time limits as there is less than 1Min given per question??
and What kind of a score is enough to fetch an interview call??

Please Help me!! As I already feel my chances are low coz of applying so late.

Regards

- how do we look for vacant family acco, just outside the campus and what is the cost like per month for a furnished accom. with fridge , AC , washing m/c , gas , full fledged kitchen and other household amenities.

- r there markets nearby to make daily purchases like vegetables , fruits etc

- do students bring thier wives and kids alongtwith them and how many of them do stay outside the campus.

- how does the institute provide vegitarian food to pure veggie students

- and what is total cost of course including all living expenses for the 16 months duration at manila

hope that some good samaritan answers my questions
