Adding on to Senthil's response, you also need to keep in mind that irrespective of class salary average, a person's post PGPX salary depends on his past experience and skills he can bring to the table.
As far as we got to know so far, PGPX placements are not those typical mass recruitments that happen in relatively less experienced classes. Rather they are tailored to suit the exp and needs of each of the students.
cheers

Pre- and post-PGPX salaries might be collated for the sake of providing statistics, but as far as we can make out will not play a part in the adcom decision - the tail does not wag the dog.

Thanks DPS1. This is different from the process IIM L and C follow.
Also does it mean that IIM A's shortlisting is based on candidate's GMAT score and personal profile (years of exp, exposure to mgmt tasks etc)?
Thanks

Arun, Good to see you finding time to write here! Hope you are having fun with all the techies from abroad. Do send my regards to them esp. Jondil & Senthil. I saw on the website that final class strength is 80. Could you now tell us how many WL did not convert at all - was it just 2 / 3 or many more.

Kiran, (All opinions are mine and do not represent an official response from IIMA) Your profile looks good and I'd suggest you to put your best foot forward for GMAT. However, GMAT is not the only criteria, Adcom looks at. I'd also suggest writing GMAT at least 1.5 months before the end date for application, so that, in extreme case if you're not happy with your GMAT score, you'd be able to write GMAT again before the application end date. To the best of my knowledge, not having International experience is not a negative aspect of one's application, since one's job might have never demanded it. There are no clear-cut criteria as such, but having intl experience may help. If it makes you feel better, there are many people in my class, who do not have any international experience. Good luck! -Pramod- Quote:

Hi
The average profile of the class is available on PGPX website. That should give you an idea of the overall class profile. If you are looking for anything more specific about the profile, let me know.
As far as people from armed forces are concerned, yes there are few in our class. I can pass on their contacts to you but before that I want to check with them. I will do that and get back to you.
My personal view (not IIMA adcom's): Your profile looks competitive, especially with your armed forces background. If you can bring out your diversity in the essays it should work out in your favour.
All the best
cheers

Hey
Had applied for PGPX last year. With low gmat and low work ex didnt clear the first stage only. Hopeful this time around.
My profile
Work Ex - 5+ in IT (20+ months international experience)
GMAT : 740/5.0
Average Acads and average EC
Strong Insurance domain knowledge.
Know Basic French and German language
Currently hold the profile of Team Lead and managing couple of projects.
Is 5+ experience still low for PGPX course. Even though I qualify it seems that I would belong to lower level of spectrum and need to show something different in the form filling to reach the next round.
