Congratulations and Best Wishes to everyone who got through the first gate...

I didn't make it..
(760/4.5/B.Tech IIT/ 7 yrs R&D in Telecom & Multimedia / 3 Patents and 7 Publications)
(Low CGPA / No Extra-Curr / Low International Exposure / No Managerial experience)

Was surprised initially.. But looks like there are many more here like me..

Don't know if they are giving feedback.. However shot across my querry to Adcom.

It has to be this year.. all set to take on ISB now...

One thing that I am happy about though is that the results have come ahead of schedule. It tells me that I shouldn't waste any more time and focus all my energy on the ISB essays.

Hi Sanjeev,

Thanks for your inputs. I have a question, when you say a defree from PGPX III, i understand that you were offered the admission but you decided not to pursue it. Was IIM A, accomodating enough to allow you to join a future batch. Will you have to go through the admission process again?

Thanks,
Sameer

Hi All,

Now that results for the short listed candidates is out, I guess it is time to pull up the socks for next steps.
The posts out here have been really good in guiding (and at time motivating!)

I have my interview in AHD on 20 Sep, 1:00 PM (guess am one of the early birds!)
Does anyone else have an inteview in near by time slots or same date?

My profile: 11 years total ex, 4 years manufacturing, 7 years IT. GMAT 690, overseas exp: 4 years, above average extra curriculars and acads. Currently delivery head in one of the IT companies.

Cheers

Can somebody clarify the following:1) When interviews start and when they are ending? What is the criterio in giving interview date (somebody in sept and some in Oct. Whether the order is as per the merit)2) What is the ratio of number of people called for interview and number of seats3) Is there anybody from Hyderabad who got a call4) Whether IMS/TIME/Princeton offering preparatory coaching.

Friends,

IIM A has declared the shortlist. I have not made it. Congrats to those who have made it.

I believe it is an inside out approach while short listing the candidates.

IIM A would finally have to get each one placed (which is not a problem at all, considering the brand value), its the matter of roles that are being offered or have been offered to the students.

While portfolio change is definitely a great strength of the course, but if a certain sector is a major recruiter and would prefer candidates having prior work-ex in that sector, its only natural to have more shortlists from that sector.

Thus, future placements would also play an important role in shortlist. Now, that does not mean that other sectors are any less priveldged. Its just that if Adcom has to decide 5 profiles/sector, then the strongest would be selected.

Cheers
