Will definetly plan my application to leverage on work ex as suggested by you. Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever. | | | | | | | |

Hi My personal opinion
If you can get your story right in the application, yours is a competitive profile to get an interview call. Rest depends on your essays and interview performance.
cheers

Hi,
My profile -
6.5 work ex by Apr 09 in IT Services, 1.5 yrs intl. exp., last 2 years in a leadership role.
GMAT - 770/5.5
Acads - Good, EC - Decent
Can someone comment on my lower work ex. compared to the batch's average, and if it can cause any hindrances in the placement process ?
Is this course in anyway MORE suited for mid-managerial executives ?
Thanks. | | | | | | | |

I know this is not the best thread to post this question, but, i think this is the thread that can give me good answers.
On this thread is there someone who got an offer from IIMA and also from an international univ (say IMD/INSEAD/UCLA), and accepted the international offer rather than one from IIMA PGPX.
I am asking this because applying to IIMA PGPX is a very strategic decision and in all probabilities one does so due to an aim of pursuing a long term career in India itself. So there will be quite a no. of such people whose first pref would be IIMA, and if rejected from IIMA they go to an international univ. I specifically want to hear from someone who rejected IIMA (PGPX) and accepted an offer from any one of the univs in the league of the aforementioned ones.
You would hardly get to hear the tough side of PGPX from the current students (with due respect to all of them as I know it is not easy to speak anything against one's own college). However, it would be interesting to hear the other side of the story as well.
Thanks

Hello All,
The IIM-A PGPX application does not ask for any of the following - Candidate's strengths & weakness, goals, why b-school and such questions.
The major information requested are regarding GMAT, UG / PG grades and job responsibilities.
So is the first round of screening biased heavily towards people with good acads (UG / PG scores / GMAT) and people with considerable amount of supervisory role? Specifically does IIM A PGPX prefer a person with 12 years of experience (with 5 years spent in a managerial role) compared to a person with 8 years of experience (with 2 years spent in a managerial role).
Thanks ,
Sudarshan. | | | | | | | |
