Hi Siddharth,

(All opinions are mine and do not represent an official response from IIMA)

We can only answer specific questions on PGPX. Please post any specific questions should you have with respect to the PGPX application process.

I don't think that any person, with any particular background, would have a particular hindrance since admissions are merit-based. One's merit is determined on basis of various aspects such as work ex, academics, extra-curricular activities, GMAT, performance in interview, etc etc.

Good luck.

Hi to everyone in the group,

Even I am planning to apply for PGPX IV 09-10.I just finished my GMAT last week.
Score : 740 (Q 48, V 44, 5.0 / 6.0).

I belong to the largest application pool (Indian IT male) with around 8 yrs of experience specifically in the automotive domain (3 yrs of intl experience).

I have some questions regarding my application approach.Hence I wanted to get the contacts of ppl currently pursuing / finished the course. I have heard that we are not supposed to post personal mail Ids in this forum. Hence I would like to know where can I get this contact information ? Sorry if I sound naive since I am new to this group.

Hope to be a regular contributor to this group from now.

Hi Pramod and other seniors,

I would appreciate if someone can post the updated placement statistics or at least let us know when is this going to be completed as I think that the list of participating companies is incomplete.

Regards..

Hi, This is my first post to the thread. Needless to mention - another aspirant in the race.

Would like to thank all for their guidance. We all know how difficult it would be to take time out from your busy schedule and revert to all the queries.

My Profile:

B. Tech (Mech) 2003 Batch
Worked with Hyundai Motors and Reliance Retail in Product Development and Sales Domains.
Total Work Ex : 5.5 Years (By Course begining)
GMAT : 720/ AWA 5
Acads/ Extra Curricular : Average (Nothing substantial)

I am bothered about my low Work Ex and GMAT score. Please guide if my association with Retail and Auto will have some positive effect on the profile as these are different from the IT domain and two of the fastest growing sectors in Asia.

Thanks in advance.

Do we have a reliable site where we could find out the GMAT school code for various institutes...or could someone send the school codes for IIMA-PGPX, ISB one 1 yr full time, XLRI - GMP, IIM C - 1Yr PG and IIM L - One yr PG...

do these codes vary with the programs...like do we IIM having 2 different codes for 2 of its programs...

all ur insight would be helpful....

Hi
I suggest you post your questions on this forum so that everyone (and those in the IT pool in particular) will get answers to common questions. In case there are questions specific to your profile/personal questions, you can send me a personal message.

Cheers
Prabhu.

Hi
My personal opinion is that work-ex is on the lower side, but given your diverse profile, this may be compensated to some extent. I don't know how adcom may look at it, but if it's any solace to you, we have 1 person in our batch from retail background and ~6-7 years of experience. So I suggest you go ahead and give it a shot with 110% effort.

cheers
Prabhu.
