Thx Prabhu,

I believe that placement statistics are a very important factor for future students. And if a great institue such as iima can update the names of recruting companies and provide some more statistics on the placements, it would be really helpful.
I was just going thru insead's website and I was amazed at the wealth of information they have provided in their AlumniSpeak. This is really a way of polishing.
Will appreciate if you guys could bring this in front of the adcom.

Hello Seniors,

I also require a feedback on my profile, and a specific question to be addressed.

I am a Company Secretary & law graduate with 10 years of work experience. GMAT 710. Work exposure is different from average professional in same field, have worked in M&A, Due diligence, Corporate legal consulting, etc. Handling operations head profile of mid-size consulting firm. No international experience apart from 2 visits to Dubai for week's time each. Request your feedback on this, and if there is any similar profile person in your batch (like a Chartered Accountant).

Apart from this, my specific question is that I have got an admit from Manchester Business School. I would start that by the time a get the interview call from IIMA. Does that becomes a deterrent in admission.

Request views of all seniors available here.

Thanks,

Girish

Hi Prabhu,

I am new to pagalguy. Currently I am a Senior Scientific Officer in a Govt. organization and my basic work nature is programme management/ implementation, supporting TDA schemes and social sector development. Allthough my work ex is 5.5 years, I have completed B.Tech (from NIT) and M.Tech (from reputed state college), which makes the exp as 7 years.

My career marks is 75% throughout...
Appearing for GMAT in May last week...
Decent Extra Curri...
Have international exposure...not exactly as work exp but work related visits
Undergone 12 wk training in IIPA, New Delhi
Published papers (mainly on Public Pvt Partnership and Higher education) both national and International...

It would be helpful if you can let me know about my chances in terms of profile and what GMAT score would be able to fetch me a call (as per your opinion)

Thx in advance

Hi Girish,

(All opinions are mine and do not represent an official response from IIMA)

We've been writing exams off late and have written 5 of them in last week. There is always a flurry of work and hence, response is delayed at times. We apologize for the delay.

Regd your question, we've at least two CAs, one ICWA and a few CFAs in our class. I believe that your profile is on similar lines. However, please understand that each person, who gets admitted to PGPX, has a unique profile and hence, always one should always use the profile info for reference purposes only, rather than indulging in a one-on-one comparison. Having said that, you've a good profile and you'd give PGPX a try.

On your specific question, I do not believe that it would be a deterrent, as long as you can follow the whole process (application, if short listed - essays and interview).

Good luck.

Hi,

(All opinions are mine and do not represent an official response from IIMA)

I'm not sure how did you arrive at your work ex as 7 yrs? Nonetheless, if you satisfy the PGPX criteria of age as 27 or above, you'd be eligible for the program. Though your experience is on lower side, I'd suggest you to complement it with a good GMAT score and application details. It is difficult to say which GMAT score should be able to get one a call, since it is primarily a function of other applicants' GMAT score and which is completely out of Adcom's control. I'd suggest not fretting too much over it and instead, putting your best foot forward.

Good luck.
