It says 70% is 3 GPA. And any percentage increase above that is 0.03.
It is not that important to convert into GPA, because the Admissions commitee actually knows our rating system. Also the college transcripts should mention the rating system of your university. | | | | | | | |

Hi Anshul,
I'll start by putting up my profile.
Acads: X - 87.2%
XII - 78.2 %
Graduation - BE(Computer Science), BIT Mesra, GPA of 6.96/10 (74.6%) - I think the Institute has some Int'l reputation.
GMAT - 760 given a week back.
AGE - I will turn 25 this month.
Work Experience:
2 yrs 11 months in TCS involved in the custodian banking implementation in PARIS with BNP PARIBAS Bank.
Spent the first year working in Gurgaon - Offshore. For the last 2 years I have been in Paris working at the client site.
The project is all about securities markets and finance (stuff like EuroNext and SWIFT if you know what I mean). My job is about converting business requirements into Rules and then implementing Rules in Code. Plus Critical Production Support.
Extra Curriculars - Play the Guitar. Had a band in college. Some stuff in college organising events and leading clubs. No extracurriculars while at TCS. I think I can make a case.
FUTURE - I am open to careers in Consulting, Finance, Marketing, Operations. I don't seem to keen on HR. If possible I would like to be closer to the IT industry.
Now,
I have done little research on schools yet. Just took my GMAT. Now I have to find the best fit school.
My question:
I am still young. With my age and profile.. do you think I stand a chance applying to the TOP schools like Berkely/GSB/Stern. What are the schools you would advise.
What do you think of CMU Tepper. ( It seems to match my interest in IT)
( Warning: More questions might keep flowing as I dig into research )
Thanks in advance for answering.
( For this post i grabbed a template from Ashish's post... coz it was so similar. I hope its not a copyright voilation ... he he )
Regards,

@anirudh, dude we have a simliar profile right down to the guitar, age, birth month and the percentage although I am from an NIT, but I have left TCS and I am working for a NGO since the last few months, running a small school here in Hyd. I would love to hear your school choices. Thanks

Hey all,
Sorry for not being there for a while. I started my summer session at UNC and its busyyyy..
@anirudh
Your age should not be a big problem, I myself am just 24.
Let me get this right, your total work ex is 4 yrs?
If yes, you do have a shot at the top schools. Otherwise, you should still consider them but as "stretch schools"
My selection for you:
1. Stretch
MIT
CMU
NYU
2. Realistic
UT AUstin
Indiana Kelley
UMN Carlson
UMD Smith
3. Safety
Purdue
Arizona Eller
GSU Robinson
@others
If i missed your profile, post it againa nd iw ill make sure i reply back to you within a week.
