Hey mab_europe_09, what were the questions your interviewer asked you?
What were their backgrounds?

Hi All,

I am Rajinder from India. I have 12 years of experience and my GMAT scores are 680/5.0. I have almost 2.5 - 3 years of international experience and good leadership experience. I have a led a team of 80 people at one point of time. Please let me know whether my profile suits for INSEAD.

Hi Rajinder,

I can't be too sure if INSEAD suits you or the other way around. I guess their average age is 29. So, that puts you at a slight disadvantage to begin with. However, if you build a really strong case in your essays... things might be different.

Another program you might want to consider is IMD, which has a stated policy of accepting candidates with work ex and a lot of recruitment for Global Leadership programs happens from there.

Hope this helps....otherwise please feel free to completely ignore my advice.

Cheers !

Thank you archer for the advise. Why do you think my age makes my case weak? By the time I join INSEAD, my age will 32 by the time I join and WE will be 12 years. Is it because I will be too old for the average age of the school?
I am also thinking about IMD but it costs like hell. Please tell me how much loan can I get if I secure the admission to IMD. Also do I need a guarantor for the loan?

Hi Rajinder,

It boils down to personality fit. INSEAD represents young, driven, successful, ambitious candidates who are capable of working in any part of the world. If you can convince the adcom, and score realistically on the parameters above, then go ahead and apply. Its you who should believe in yourself and no one else can tell you if you stand a chance or not. If there is a fit with your personality and where you want to be in future, then nothing else matters. But be realistic.

I think at IMD they offer loans without a co-signer.

For other applicants, am done with both the interviews and now its going to be a long wait. One interviewer mentioned that the adcom will get together in mid August to select the candidates from R2.

All the best.

PGs....just trying to survive the wait so delving into issues beyond the application.

Have you noticed how strong the Euro is trading against INR at the moment. Jesus....my whole budgeting is out of the window now. I started considering INSEAD in September 2007 when Euro to INR was around 55 and now it is slightly over 66. Thats a straight 20% increase in cost of capital. And its a lot for a poor sod like me.

Just a thought.....keep waiting !!

good point backbencher...i wouldnt be surprised if we will have to shell out 70-72 per euro by the time the few lucky of us that gets the admit and has to part away with the money for tuition....

im in week 2 of the wait post interviews....the wait is painful and checking these forums is turning into a bad habit!!!
