Work exp: will be 4 yrs by Jan 2009, all intl in singapore, US

What do you guys think of this profile?

Ne advice on INSEAD app?

Compared to the average INSEAD profile (which you can find on their website, duh), your GMAT is below average and yrs work experience is slightly below average. That's about all one can say based on the limited information you've provided. Your international experience should be OK. This doesn't really mean anything.

Your profile is more/less interesting dependent on (among others):
- the kind of work experience and the progression you've made
- any cool extracurricular stuff you've done (demonstrated leadership??)
- how good your motivation (why MBA, why INSEAD) is
- what makes you different from the other supersmart and talented people applying (stress this in your essays!!!)

So... if you're a male indian, work in IT and your answers to all of the above are dull: don't even try.
On the other hand... if you're a female from Sudan working for McKinsey, I think you have a fair chance.

Good luck.

Re: INSEAD 2009 Applicants - 09-05-2008, 09:51 AM

hi guys...
i had my first interview yesterday.. it was an extremely unexpected 2 hour interview. The interviewer gave me lots of situations and asked me what i will do in those hypothetical situations. Lot of creativity check and pressure. He was also tellin me about insead and wht he wud do in his situation questions. He did ask me the usual questions, but i felt he was always wanting a very different , off track answer. I am not sure if it went well but not have been grilled to that extent before this.Hope to have an easier and relaxed second interview

Hi guys

I had my both done between today and tomorrow-

: The first one was at the opffice of an i-banking firm in Mumbai done at a formal setting in a conference hall. The interviewer asked me lots of questions and did cross-check quite a few of them. It ranged from my professional experience to why MBA to my entrepreneural plans etc.
Generally calm-lasted for little over an hour. I should give it a 8/10

: The second one was with the MD of a creative firm-This was extremely diverse and the interviewer digressed from one thing to another but carefully covered al that he would have wanted to cover. He grilled me over my confort with diversity (i have little internationl experience!)..he taked a lot about his experiences and time at Insead.
I would rate it a 7.5/10

And now.....drink drink drink over the weekend to cool my head. I have a feeling that this wait can be killing

Hi, does anyone know whether applying in R3 affects the chances of scholarship ? As for the seats , the FAQ mentions that fewer seats may be available in R3/4, does anyone have the numbers from any other source ?

Thanks.

I don't remember the exact dates but the deadline for scholarships is definitely before the deadline for R3 so you would not be eligible.

As for number of seats, I've been following the Sep 08 intake thread in the businessweek forums and based on that, it does not look good for R3 applicants. Unless you have a non traditional or an exceptionally strong profile, you may want to hold off. R1 for Sep 09 maybe a better option.

Hi

I took my GMAT last weekend and got a 720/5 . I have not started the application for any of the schools. So wanted some information about INSEAD application. I see that you have already applied for it , so would be great if you could hep me out with it.

Thanks

I would suggest that you do your basic fact-gathering by going to INSEAD - Welcome to the Business School for the World. There's a wealth of information available there. Then if you have any specific questions you can post them here.
