Lancaster is a better university for Business studies. Imperial college itself didnt have a business school untill tanaka business school opened up. and then only last year in oct 2008 Tanaka has been renamed to Imperial college business school.

even Imperial college students agree that Tanaka ain't that good business school. you may want to check out local UK student forums for that.

Imperial college business school (previously Tanaka) has just capped on Imperial name. otherwise in more terms, as below, Lancaster university management school is much better :

1. Lancaster b-school is highly reputed for personal and professional development, more than imperial college business school
2. It is equal in terms of post-MBA job prospects and industry exposure as compared to imperial
3. Lancaster has a more rigorous and intense curriculum
4. Three opportunities, as compared to only one at Imperial, for a real-time project based activity, that spans the whole one year. Hence more learning, more networking opportunities etc.
5. It is equal in terms of number of faculty with doctorate degree.
6. It has much less tuition fees, more scholarship opportunities, Quieter countryside, much cheaper accommodation

I want to get the maximum out of what I pay, and Lancaster seems undoubtedly the best option.

Even if you go by rankings Lancaster and Imperial are close to each other. I dont believe in rankings though. I would not want to spend my money only because of rankings.

For educational purposes, Lancaster is much better choice.

Hello Everyone,
I am a final year student at IIT Roorkee.
I would like to know about the Msc Management Program that is offered by the university.

Is it advisable to spend such a huge amount of money for pursuing the course considering the fact that I do not belong to an affluent family and most of the fees would be borne by loans from banks.

Hello everyone,
Looks the thread is dead for sometime...
Well, congratulations to all who got an admit at imperial..
Now my question - I am from HR background with 6 years of experience and would like to get into my own entrepreneurship venture post my MBA program. As I understand imperial is strong in Tech., would you recommend imperial to me, given that I would definitely not get into IT/tech. business?

Moreover, after 7-8 years of entrepreneurship I wish to join mainstream politics; though I have already started working on that front... Considering this additional info, can you guys recommend some good businesss schools which will help me in social entrepreneurship. This will meet both my entrepreneurship
and my political ambitions...

merci...
