I wouldn't think so.... This is the answer from Mr.Menon:

How much truth is there in the statement that applying in Round 1 is beneficial to a candidate?

Since we cannot predict the quality of the students in both the rounds, we have to ensure that we maintain a waitlist for both the rounds of admissions. While we try to make the process as fair as possible, it is still preferable to apply in Round 1 provided your application is complete.

Any ideas?

Valid point. But wouldn't that be valid for every phase. For example this thread started with people asking profile specific questions about ISB, moved on to application related questions, after the first list comes out it will have interview related questions and when R2 deadline comes closer people will have questions related to admissions...and probably the cycle will go on till the final admissions are done. If a new person goes through the thread would understand the complete cycle.

Cheers !!

Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants - 11-09-2008, 07:40 AM

Hi,

Assuming that I wasn't very clear in my earlier post, I would like to put forth the question in a better manner.

I'm a reapplicant and during last year (R2 of 2008-09) my evaluation 1 came from person A and 2 came from person B.
This year I would like to use my previous evaluation 1 from person A and would like to submit a new evaluation 2.
But mistakenly, I have extended this year's evaluation 1 to a new contact (the evaluator has received the link from ISB). So when I try to re-use evaluation 1 from last year, it is overriding the new contact for this year.
Is there a way to re-attach the link that my new contact has received (evaluator 1 for this year) to evaluation 2 for this year so that I could re-use evaluation 1 from last year?

Has someone faced a similar issue before?

Thanks.

this statement is definately tru but we cannot ignore the fact that one has the entire 560 seats to compete for in R1 where as its reduced to abt 250-300 in R2. so i gues one still has that much advantage .. though everyone would agree that a strong application in R2 is better than weak application in R1

Ne idea when will we get the shortlist for the interviews? will we get the shortlist for different locations of interview at different times or all at the same time. if they release the shortlist at the same time then definately those who have taken hyderabad as the interview location will be at an advantage coz they will get some more time to prepare and get the feedbacks from those already interviewed...

Hi,

Submitted my App... after Two weeks of essays.. which included 1 week of paining friends..

Was really psyched before pressing the submit button.. started with double-checking and then went to nth-checking the scans.. dates.. and ofcourse the time-sinks (essays)..

Was releived to see a clean-pdf generated

Then I see, essays were formatted by the PDF creator. Why did I spend so much time trying to introduce lines and spaces ? It ended up with double the amount of spaces:huh:.

I thought I will be releived once I press submit..
So foolish of me.. I can't wait for the one month to pass by...
Keeping my fingers crossed..

To summarize my profile :
(760/AWA 4.5 / EE, IITM / 7yrs in Telecom R&D, Startup experience; 3 Patents; No significant EC; (Ding from PGPX)

cheers,
sarat

Though the adcom says that applicants will receive intimation about their interview a week or so prior to the date of interview, I know a few people who received their call a month and half prior to their interview dates.

If a person is genuinely interested in ISB, it doesn't really matter where she will be interviewing. She would have already started her interview preparation . Moreover, it is quite common for candidates to prepare a comprehensive list of interview questions from previous years (p_jez's post on page 85). So, in effect, candidates from Hyderabad won't be at a big advantage. No matter where we interview, its best that we know our application inside-out. Most questions are likely to be from what we have written in our app.

Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants - 11-09-2008, 04:14 PM

Hi,

I will be submitting my application today.
I want to know what all documents are required to be uploaded?
What about marksheets/transcripts GMAT score etc? Do we need to upload these documents as well?

Thanks
