Hey ghghghghgh12,

wced is "Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurship Development". You can find more details about it at http://www.isb.edu/wced/index.shtml.

Hope that clarifies.

Here are few steps to do justice to yourself while preparing for your interview.

STEP 1)

1) Read through your application in great detail. Try to pick up a) all the good things in the application b) All the crazy things in the application. Now prepare questions on these two aspects.

2) Read your ECs, and try to prepare a few likely questions.

3) Read your Essays

Raghav's i/v is along the same lines as mine. The essence of every interview is the same. Some parts will b unique. Anyways I have forwarded ur query to him. Shall reply to you soon.

Any tough assignment you have faced at work?

This is a question all must expect regardless of work profile. ISB expects you to be challenged at work. Whether you won or lost is a different ball game. It stems from their belief that unless challenged very few people tend to learn. If you say you weren't challenged at work, then thats the end of the road for you ! I know a Mumbai R1 applicant who drew a blank on this one .. n didn't make it though other facets of his profile were impressive.

Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants - 30-12-2008, 08:18 AM

Tips for interview

1. Read application thoroughly. Read the "prospective students" on their website well. During the interview you should look like someone who has researched the school well.

2. Dress neat and formal. If you are uncomfortable in a suit then wear a simple formal shirt and pant n formal shoes. Tie is optional. Wear pleasant colours. Dont go for flashy colours. Dont wear the traditional black pant and white shirt.

3. Reach the venue about an 45 mins early than your scheduled slot to soak in the atmosphere and calm your nerves.

4. Dont forget to carry your interview call letter. Also note your application number.

5. 100 word essay: Take it extempore. I dont think you can prepare on it. 100 words is roughly 3-4 lines. The scope of the word usually is broad. You can write anything you want. For e.g "beat" - could be music, heart, maar-peet, competition etc. Dont attach too much significance to this

6. Generic questions: Why MBA? Why now? Why ISB? Post-ISB plans - long term and short-term ?

7. While answering every question make sure you make eye contact with everybody. Remember you are being interviewed by a panel and not by a individual.

8. Ask intelligent questions and not something that can be found on the FAQ section.

9. It will be like a discussion mainly. They'll try and corner you in some of the questions (in a nice way). Thats where your tact comes into play. Dont panic on such questions.

10. In your enthusiasm dont over-answer a question unless you are sure you can steer them (to a question you want them to ask you)

11. Finally remember that there is more to life than ISB. It not a make or break situation. Dont let tension / anxiety / fear take over. Be calm and give your best.

Hope this helps. All the best R2 guys. hope to see you @ ISB.

And that too is a four hour game.
I have a friend who had a bad day and got 570.
He immediately gave a second try. Without much extra prep but with change in attitude, next time he got a 690.
