Hi,

Can R1 Admits comment on the order of applications taken up for their completeness? I mean whether the status change from submitted online to
complete is done based on application reference number or applications based on the interview location?

Hello ppl!

Lotsa heated discussion on the suit issue.. so it seems the topic does merit some attention

Ok.. i am reviving this discussion... Suggestions on dress code for ladies please.. I'm a reapplicant and dont intend taking any chances on any front.. (any R1 lady admits out there?)

My profile is:
IT engineer 3 yrs work ex as developer and lead.

So please suggest whether a suit is expected? Cos with my background, suit is totally out of place.... And ofcourse needless to add that i havent ever worn a suit!

Especially concerned about this since i was rejected on the ground of "interview skills"....

Cheers!
Shruti.

I dont know on what basis it is done and dont think its that important. Wait till weekend... it should be done by then. ISB follows the location-wise announcement for result for Inv's only.

Cheers and ATB to all!!!

Formal Suit - If you are accustomed to it and are comfortable.

Salwar - Nice and pleasant looking i.e. it shouldnt be too flashy or gaudy.

Also "interview skills" could possibly mean one or more of the following:

1. You were not confident looking during interview
2. Your body language was dull or laidback
3. You might have blurted out the wrong things i.e. bad mouthed your company or colleague etc etc
4. You were not well prepared for the interview i.e. you were not sure about what was in your application
5. You didnt make eye-contact with all concerned there
6. Your voice was not modulated i.e. you were too loud while answering or the other way
7. Interrupted / Argued pointlessly with a Adcom member

Dont bother about it. They have their own way of doing things. Suggest you concentrate on preparing for the interviews since you have submittd the app 'successfully'. No point in wondering abt the logic with which Adcom works. Also if something was wrong they would email you. So relax and enjoy anxiety!

Hi Shruti,

While a formal business attire is "always" suit. No doubts about it.

But in an Indian setting, a salwar suit is also fine. If I were you, I would go ahead and buy a business suit, wear it and try to be comfortable. While a suit is not a make or break, but it leaves a good impression to the interviewer. What to wear as a business suit, follow this gmatclub thread about Business Attire for women:
