Also, consider who might give you a holistic reco. If you go to the online application and look at the questions in the recommendation, you will see that the questions there are structured in such a way that someone who does not really know you well, might not be in a good position to answer. So even if you choose the CEO of your company, he might not be able to do justice to the questions in the reco unless he knows you well. So please go through the questions yourself and decide on who might be best suited to answer those questions.
Believe me, the questions won't be a simple Rate-the-candidate-on-the-following-features-between-1-and-5 type. Atleast it was not so last year.

Hi Sabthagiri,
I went online(created account) but could not see the questions for the recommender there ?
It only says that a link will be sent to you evaluator's email id where the evaluator can fill the recommendation form.
Choice of recommender depends on the type of questions asked. Do you guys see these questions on you intra net . Can you share with us?

If you choose the offline mode of submission you will be able to download the reco in a word file. However, I am not sure if you can choose the offline option and then change it to online again. If so, you might want to create a new account. Its free remember!

Hi Guys,
Even I am eyeing for ISB this year. Good to see a thread for folks in the same the pool. Keep up the good work!
Here is my profile:
1. std X(2000): 90.4%
2. std XII(2002): 82.4%
3. BE - IT (2006) from MIT,Manipal University : 3.5/4.00 (83% as per university's conversion formula).
4. GMAT score: 670 (Q:49,V:31,AWA:4.5).
I have been working for Adobe Systems as a Quality Engineer for the past two years. Hence i will have around 3 years of work ex by the time I would join(how i wish :P) ISB.
I would like to know whether I should write GMAT once again since according to me, my current GMAT score is not that great. Guys, I would be really grateful if anyone of you could help me on this.
Regards,
Manish

I would strongly encourage you to retake the exam, especially given that you are an IITM where the GMAT scores are typically high. ATB.

Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants -

Hi Badri & Sabt,
I am a self employed professional and I work with startups ( 2 of them now) in
A) Enhancing their sales, will be taking sales for a IT start up from 2L to around 15L this year, and
B) Devloping from scratch the operations of another startup in Hyderabad, the start up is based in Delhi. This start up is into management consulting.
I am a B.tech from IIT (low acads), GMAT - 680. My questions:
a) What is the usual ratio of conversion for self employed professional(total selected/ total applied) because both the start ups that I am working with have a strength of less than 10.
b)Will GMAT and acads be a big hurdle in this case.
c) Are self employed professional treated as a seperate pool or based on the sector they are in they are put in the corresponding pool, in which case I can get into either of IT or finance/consulting.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Regards
Nikil

Hi Badri & Sabt,
I took the GMAT day before and scored a 700. I thought i could have dine much better and that this was one of the bad days. Anyways, I am contemplating of applying to ISB in R1 this year. I am already an MBA from a top ten BSchool in India ('06) and working in the Financial Services sector. I am looking to start my own enterprise and hence want to join ISB. Just wanted to ask you how open is ISB towards people who are already MBAs. By April I will have around 5 yrs experience (3 post my earlier MBA). I am aa graduate engineer with very ordinary acads.
Thanks in Advance for your help

Hi All,
I am back on PG after a sabatical.... I was rejected after interview last time. As per the feedback from ISB, I "did not display the same level of energy at the time of interview" as in my application package.
I have a couple of questions.
1. The first essay is similar to last year's diversity qn. Can i retain last time's essay(atleast to an extent)?
2. Can i retain the same recco as last time? I wish to retain one of them and ask my present supervisor to add one this time.
3. Also, the FAQ says the following:"If you wish to update part of your previous application, include the fresh material with your reapplication."
How can i update part of my previous application. When i log on with my previous id, it says that the email id does not exist in the ISB adcom database.
Thanks for your time...
Shruti.

Hey Shruti,
Back on the ISB thread huh! Well I wasn't able to lure you away to NUS the last time. This time also I am sure I won't get the chance as I am sure you gonna make it. All the best!
