It applies to our ISB experience too. Not all here will be selected but then the question is why we wish to attend ISB? Ans: For learning.
Is it really just learning?
The brand of learning matters a lot too.
and the peer group.
and the placement assistance.
and the cost. (US MBA much costlier)

And chew on this:
If you were in McKinsey/ USA, and found a Wharton/Kellogg guy too expensive to recruit next year post-recession, wouldn't ISB be a cost-effective-yet-globally-recognised campus for recruiting?

Well said.. Agree with your points..

However, would disagree with your example: (I am going )
If I were recruiting for an office in USA, I wouldn't take the risk of that guy not getting an H1B later.

I have this sudden urge to go into a long peaceful sleep. And I have no idea how to stay productive at least until the wee hours of 20th November! Sweet or not, this November is surely a long one

Thanks Target-09 for taking the initiative (of asking the adcom formally)!

You know what- you just contributed to India's GDP by adding 1.5 * 500= 750 man days!

( 1.5 days to go for 20th nov, 500 anxious puys who are spiritually absent from office.)

Each new sms sound, each new gtalk pop up had started sending chills down my spine. Thanks I can breathe easy till 20th now...

Thanks Sarat

Re your 'risk', do the Math

ISB Class of 2010 =560
Last year Inl offers =111 http://www.isb.edu/pgp/Placement_Highlights.Shtml
So assume same or more for 2010, so=120
US H1B quota likely (even with Obama)=100,000
House Republicans Move To Increase H1B Visa Quota
Plus business visas etc.
Doesn't seem to be too much of a risk.
Of course, this year's ISB placements will tell the real story
Cheerio

Richa,

The truth about the doc theory can only be known once the results are out. then we can separately survey those who did and did not get in and check when their doc status was updated.

It's impossible to know for sure right now.

p.s. I did take the survey!

Im sure someone at ISB must be reading all our "theories" and laughing bout it,
im sure next year we'd be doing the same thing, sitting in ISB and smiling away at the theories posted in 'ISB 2010 Aspirants' thread...
