Been reading some recent posts on Raj vs Who-have-you!

More interesting to me than taking sides is: All great institutes (not just educational), including this forum, should encourage diversity of opinion.
In this particular case, I find Raj's tone very acceptable and postings very sensible. Of course, I too am passionate about ISB; however that does not give me any right about shutting the forum to diverse views.

Doesn't ISB itself pride abt diversity?

"Shutting the forum to diverse views.. " ??

No Not at all

Again a misconception IMHO..

Raj presented his views and his opinion about the majority here..
We presented ours and explained our stance..
Just that the number of voices was a bit skewed..

i dont quite wanna write thiis, but since there hardly are any posts - let me
U realise the inherent paradox of your post right? You are projecting the view that the FORUM SHOULD ENCOURAGE DIVERSITY OF OPINION. So by the very nature of your statement - you are contradicting yourself. You cant say " X SHOULD be done" when X states that everyone is allowed to hold their opinion.

But then - am sure we all understand that diversity is required on the forum. However, there are some things that are not acceptable to a lot of people and there is bound to be protests. Diversity is fine - but what if I were to start asking you to, for example, not post any messages.
Am sure that will be met with a lot of opposition. And we will all agree that it was wrong on my part to have said what I did.
In a similar manner, it was not acceptable to me that Simz be criticised - and I / we reserve our right to vehemently oppose the criticism meted out to Simz.

Fully agree. chandu, you are my man!

But, are we selfish ?? Some of us have alreay benefitted and are thinking about the R2 applicants.
...

I would conclude by saying that
1. your remarks are based on perceptions
2. We just have belief in the system and are passionate about the school
3. We are not blind to shortcomings or averse to feedback, we are just assigning different weightages

There ends my longgggg response...
Hi Raj, let me assure you (as chandu says) that often times, our more-than-enthusiastic favoring of ISB is just a manifestation of our passion and fondness for it. C'mon, you can't argue that you can always judge someone or something objectively if you are in love with it. That's the case with people who are regulars at, take the hint, 'ISB 2009 aspirants'.

Rest assured, this passion has not reached the extreme - blind love - not at least in my case. I have been following this thread religiously since page 110, and I haven't seen a case where a genuine case of someone holding an adverse opinion about ISB has been bullied out of it. Yes I've seen your earlier posts and yes I might have agreed with many of the points you had made, but like chandu has already pointed, the tone you or some others used really put us off, and really shut the doors for any discussion. We had no choice but to respond in a similar tone. And if you take the tone of some of our reactions as bullying, then I wonder what made you start writing your own posts in that tone.

Like I say, we are not blind in our passion. Give us some credit buddy, we are high-achieving professionals with years of experience in some of the best companies in the world, we wouldn't have come this far being so naive that you presume we are.

If you have any adverse opinion about ISB, please go ahead and voice it, but voice it 'not' in a tone that reeks of holier-than-thou attitude. How do you know we are not aware of more shortcomings of ISB than you do?

Hi guys, hope things are rocking...page no. 446!!!...yeh kab hua, kaise hua:new_shocked:

Anywazs, I didnt get the chance to read any posts posted today...will read tom...

as of now, i just wanted to answer a couple of small questions asked to me ..i am unable to open my pms right now so will post here...

NOTE: THE POST IS MEANT FOR SPECIFIC INVIDUALS...THEY WILL KNOW WHEN THEY READ IT

Guys...just as redhorn said that he has been around from page 110...i have a similar case here...now i m not joining ISB (as you all were so particular in pointing out)...true i m not...cause of a later development in life...so what m i expected to do...does that take away my right to be a participant here???...i question this argument....i started blogging here...nd after 102 posts have evn got a promotion to expert pagal!!...nd i am in no mood to stop till i see all the buttons blue there...anyone has a problem...please forgive me...i cant be of any help!!!...

Nd what is this 'ISB wannabe' thing?...the post to which i replied was directed at everyone who r the veterans of this thread....i was offended..nd i replied..

'Confused state of mind...whether i am actually waiting for the ISB results eagerly'....etc etc question...well after 1 months of solid slogging...moreso since ISB was the app i started with...runnin after recommenders to discuss the pointers...going after all the prior threads on last years' interview experiences...discussng interview experiences with the "ISB WANNABES"....YOU BET...I AM EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE RESULT...IT WOULD BE TOUGH TO ACCEPT FAILURE FROM THE FIRST B SCHOOL I APPLIED TO...i think that is normal human pschology...

Nd for the people who think that I am trying to act like the "god of modesty"...well let me answer it in ur tone....YOU BET...I AM EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE RESULT....BECAUSE PROFESSIONAL FAILURE IS NOT MY CUP OF TEA...DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS....

@apprentice bro totally agree to ur point...b school selection is a lot to do with personal choices...but mate i dont know if i offended u in some way...i am sorry if i did....but i was just replying to the guy who is currently growing is balls (dont remember his name).

@(dont remember name): mate u need to get ur research updated...for ur own good...stop looking at the avg salaries at any indian b school...ISB,IIMA,B,C,L,I,K,FMS,XLRI,IIFT,JLB...ma te do google search on concepts of CTC and IN HAND salary...nd dont give me the 150000gbp salary offered at a premier b school...fyi..that even includes the rent for office space in London...

@brotherhood...all the best...heard from somewhere that the results might be out on monday..no confirmed source but just heard..

Regards,
M

Here is how my profile looks.

Education: Btech in Comp Science.
Work Exp: 4.5yrs in an MNC(till date..includes 2.5 yrs of international exp). 2 yrs as a team lead.
Undergrad : 92.5%
Grad: 70%
Gmat: 610(a very weak point)
Extracurricular, awards etc: sports, several awards at work place, NGOs,
established a small company to take students to different countries as a part of their educational tour.

Will my gmat score be a major drawback?
did anyone with a similar profile get an interview call? Just curious...
