wow dude.. just tell me whether everyone in ISB carries a profile like yours .... if so I should think of going back to CAT from here :lookroun:

I will have 3 yrs exp as a S/W developer in an AT&T company, in the Supply Chain Management Domain, by 2009 ... I have worked as a Business Intelligence Specialist working on Cognos, also coded in Java. Expect a score of around 730-740 (avg from my tests) in GMAT... Very good acads, and extra curriculars, and also been big time into social works ...

what do you say ... should I go back to CAT or can I still pin my hopes on ISB ??

@preetham

There are people several years younger than me who are way more accomplished. Almost everyone here has something special about his/her profile. It all boils down to how well you can recognize your strengths and highlight them. How can you show to ISB that you are different , unique and distinguished.

Pin your hopes on ISB, get a good gmat score, work on your app(essays, resume) and do a good job there. You stand a chance. As far as CAT goes, I hate that exam, took it once immediately after UG managed only 88.4 percentile (in my defence i just went and wrote the exam no prep) but that was enough to tell me that I dont stand a chance at scoring 99+ in the exam

Hi Badri,

How much does a promotion help? My work ex (till date) is 2 years. I left my first job in less than a year, changed my industry (a real 180 degree shift), and in my new job, I have been promoted in a year. Should I make this a major selling point in my essays?

@mask

it depends, what ur role was, why u got promoted, to what. I went from developer to PL, role shift moved to a diff company, back to developer and again went back to PL . And I highlighted this in my resume saying no matter what role i took I got promoted quickly. So if you can say something of substantial significance about your role and your promotion you are good to go.
