hi
I am too late to look at this thread. Thanks for starting a great thread. Really serves purpose for ISB 09 aspirants(me too one of them).
My profile:
10th: 86% (CBSE)
12th: 87% ( State Board, A.P.)
Graduation: 88%( CivilEngg., NIT, passed out in 2006)
Extra-Curriculars:
Good during school days. Much Better during Engineering. Continuing in company too.
Work-Exp:
2.5Yrs as on May 1st 2009. But, I fall in the most common category of IIM(Indian, IT, Male). Respite is the quality of work. Totally related to manufacturing, SCM, Operations.
A special thanks to vsbadri, Simz and all those who posted useful posts till now( couldnt remember their pg id's) bcos i have decided to take GMAT but nothing abt scheduling. I started going through 1st page 2 hrs back and by the time i reached this post, i booked my GMAT by end of july(seems to be the best time).
Comments on my profile are most welcome.
BTW, my serious doubt is that I want to apply for R1 which i think might end by mid-sept.
My work-exp would not even be 2 yrs by that time. Will this be an obstacle while applying for R1?
| @Mohan ,
You total work exp as on March 2009 is what is considered, hence applying in R1 or R2 doesnt in anyway affect your work experience.
--Badri-- --Badri--
ISB class of 2009.

I am an officer in army with 3 yrs exp.I did my graduation from NDA in 2004.The degree given was B.Sc. from JNU.Now obviously i wasnt serious about studies in NDA.So inspite of having a distinguished academic record in my school I got FGPA of 4.4/9 .Now I want to do MBA from ISB.What I want to know is whether a graduation from JNU is recognised by ISB or not?My second question is whether I will be able to make it into ISB with the given FGPA?
Note: my percentage in 10 th is 85% and 12th is 87% | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to unguidedmissile For This Useful Post:

Query regarding extracurrics:
My extracurrics:
- Won 3rd prize in a technical paper presentation contest at the all india level tech fest held at my college
- Presented a technical paper at the paper presentation contest organised by L&T at my college
- Senior executive of ECE Assocaition of my college, NIT
- Senior Executive of Computer Society of India, NIT Chapter
- Have been the cricket team captain at all the places where I have studied
===================================
1) Now my doubt is that all these things are at the college level, not at the state level... so do they qualify to be decent or good extracurrics... I mean specifically is doin something at your college level good enuf to be wrth mentioning in your application form... Expecting an honest answer puys
2) I dont have any certificate for the college captain stuff... so would it do without the certificate...
3) and in the app form is there a separate place where you need to mention abt ur extracurrics or u just need to have it as a part of ur essays

You might be asked as to why your FGPA is on the lower side in your interview. If you have a good answer to that, then you needn't worry too much. That said, please concentrate on your GMAT and get a high score on your application so that you can demonstrate to the adcom that you also have the aptitude to take up the course at ISB. [Sabthagiri] It won't count to nothing. I can tell you that. All my extra currs have been at the college level and have made it to ISB.
2) I dont have any certificate for the college captain stuff... so would it do without the certificate...
[Sabthagiri] If you can produce some certificates of your cricket tournaments, i guess that should be a fair proof. Further, the ISB application has two sections viz., the awards section (where you need to produce certificates) and the activities section (where you might want to talk about your posts and other stuff for which ISB does not ask for a certificate).
3) and in the app form is there a separate place where you need to mention abt ur extracurrics or u just need to have it as a part of ur essays
[Sabthagiri] Refer answer above.

Dear Archana (and others who have a similar question),
Please refer the various posts in this thread. What counts is your work ex when you join ISB and not your work ex at the time you apply.
And archana, the PGP at ISB starts in April and not June. ATB.
