Sillyfool,

It seems like Badri understood my point and I do not want to eloberate further on that.

Now, since this thread is for people aspiring for ISB, I do not understand what Badri is doing here...he is already in ISB. Well, the fact is that Badri and a few others are going out of their way (considering their busy schedules at ISB) to help us aspiring people and I strongly feel that appreciating and thanking such people publicly, will only help us.

I was just explaining my poit of view and it doesn't mean that I am right

oh my dear friend i do not want to argue with you
this site is meant for ppl like you and me. I just requested
you to post relevant materail on a particular thread
Imagine a scene where you go to a particular thread
like say ISB 2009 aspirants and find message like
"i appreciate xyz for this" or "i hate abc for this"
and no info that is relevant to that thread, what purpose will
such a thread serve. I hope you got what i was tryin to explain earlier
and i still request you the same whenever you have info to share with others
post it in relevant thread otherwise if you want to say or appreciate some1
do it by PM. I know ppl here are going out of the way to help us but we also need to make
an effort to keep this thread clean.

P.S. Please no more such kind of stuff here
if you have to say anything on this PM me dont post here.

@mods request you Delete the last 4 posts of mine and vision_MBA from here
to keep this thread clean

As a starter, I am wondering if the application process starts in Jul, when would it be a good time to give the GMAT? And ideally how long before the test date do we need to book a seat for GMAT?

Thanks,
Rahul

Mr.Ranga Rao [ISB admissions director] had commented previously :
Quote:
" Dear Rishi,
If you don't have extra currics please don't worry about it. It is not considered negative (if you don't have extra currics) provided you have done well in other areas. Focus on your application.
Yes. Diversity can come from any area. Ex: Work, culture, place you belong to, Gender, Education, Extra currics, Social activities, Life changing experiences etc...
Regards,
Ranga Rao "
- From what I understand, not every student selected into ISB has an extracurricular activity to write home about.
- If you have an 'extra' it adds to your profile, but the lack of one is not considered as a negative point.
- Ensure that your app pack reflects your true self.
- Adding in stuff about an NGO or something, just for embellishing your app-pack, without actually being an active participant, will more likely than not, be caught during the interview and make the candidate look phony.

Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants - 11-05-2008, 02:44 AM

Hi,

Here is my profile...

10th: 83%
12th(Intermediate): 70%
B.Tech: 65%
IELTS: 7.5/9.0 (Though not valid now...just for info)

I am an Analyst and have 4Yrs of IT experience in an MNC just opposite to ISB :-) and by 2009 April I will be having almost 5 yrs exp. I have presented 5 national level technical papers in my engg and even won national level awards. Have many customer appreciations under my belt and had visited UK for a reputed client and I am currently in US. I also have many extracurricular activities to my name like organizing big events in college and in my current company too..active participant in NSS, Seminars, event organizing etc.....Have worked on couple of business plans too which are ready....I am just passionate abt business and have many business ideas.......just started preparing for GMAT.....

looking at my profile, how much GMAT score would be ideal for me to get in to ISB....planning to apply in R2. How will be the chances if I apply in R2 because I do not want to hurry on things to apply for R1.

Please suggest me to move forward....thanks in advance........
