@Vivek,

Thanks for the wishes, Yes there a quite a few folks with less than 24 months experience, but they have wonderful achievements to back them up. National medals in some sports, Own entrepreneurial venture that makes a few crores. So as long as you have some good achievements in your kitty you can apply . I see that you have a great gmat so if you have rich experience and/or some good achievements you are good to go.

Now I know "rich" and "achievements" are subjective but then I really cant quantify them , also i dont see what you stand to lose if u apply, so go ahead prepare a good application.

Cheers,
--Badri--
hey thanks -- i plan to actively involve myself in equity -- u know shares n all
do you think it will add to my application (- i am reasonably sure it will .. )
And hey u manage to take out a lot of time to post responses here ! Thanks dude!
I was kinda trying to find solace in the fact that no one with less than 24 months got a call

But I guess because of our "developing IT economy" I was just another techie in the applicant pool -- (my popular joke goes that MBA instis would probably prefer McD counter attenders because they have an unconventional profile and customer interaction!)

shrvan
@Shrvan and all others asking to predict your chances of an admit is meaning less, even the admission committee wont be able to do that unless they have seen all the applications.

@shrvan did u try to find out from ISB why you got rejected, if yes work on what they mentioned, If not create a better application this time and spend some quality time on highlighting your strengths. I also believe that a higher gmat score would help.

Cheers,

The last date for application submission would be sometime september, i dont think you can really improve extra currics by much within this time. dont join a NGO for the resume bullet sake you are sure to get caught in the interview. Find out what are your strengths and highlight them in the application and get a good gmat about 730+ and you might still be able to make it without much extra currics .

Thanks for the prompt reply Badri... but is there absolutely anything that I can do to improve my extra currics... any lil bit... but honestly if the other stuff is pretty good.... then evn with bad extra currics would only a miracle save me or do I still have a decent enuf chance... considering the fact that my exp is nt too great in terms of number of years

@vivek

depends if you are passionate about what you have done and if u have done something very tangible then do mention it will be beneficial. (i am part of a NGO but dint mention it anywhere since i really dint contribute much for the ngo other than organizing some two events.)

@checkinnn

I really dont know what one can do in 6 months , may be if u make a movie and put in on youtube and it attracts a million visits ;-) sorry pal i really dont know. Extra currics is only one part and its not like the most important part, so one can make an admit without extra currics if other stuff are good.you dont need a miracle(my extra currics is zilch i made it , but then perhaps a miracle happened ;-))

They look for both quality and quantity of experience, 3 yrs is good enough as long as the quality of experience is good. (for eg. i had 4 yrs work ex with 4 promotions and 3 hikes , i worked for a big mnc, also i was running my own startup)

update : this is my 50th post :-) my "pagal" pan is increasing ;-)

Badri,

From your blog, I happened to know that you are a National Silver Medalist in Math Olympiad. Don't you think it worked to a great extent towards your extra curricular activities? Just wondering

Keep up the good work here.

@sillyfool

I think vision_mba has got a valid point. He is not praising me(although indirectly he is ;-)) but he is bringing up a valid point. I had mentioned i have zilch extra-currics and by stating that i might be potentially misguiding folks since my olympiad medal could count for extra currics.

@vision_mba

I would put olympiad under co-currics or related to acads, extra-currics is mostly non academic stuff. But yes the classification is tricky since its a thin line, as you rightly pointed out I might be wrong and ISB might have counted my olympiad as extra-currics.
Perhaps i should post my profile out here ;-)

Cheers,
