Lets not consider the term "demonstrated Leadership" as "a Proof", but as "an Example" of wat you have done and wat you are capable of, now it doesnt matter if u have got an opportunity or u havent. Hence, considering the scenario today (everywhere and not only in IT***), we cant conclude that one needs to demonstrate leadership to prove ones capabilities. And thats what i understand when our mate frm ISB says that we need to be genuine in front of the interview board to raise our chance of getting an admit(remember the 3 cases he explained of guys with so called incompetent GMAT scores). Your thoughts and views in particular biz scenarios, general scenarios too, can very well show the board the depth of knowledge and understanding you have of the stream you have been working in. Basically it can certainly show if you have the LEADERSHIP thing in you. Things that can majorly change our views is by asking "Why do I say I have Leadership Qualities" and not by asking "How do I say I have Leadership Qualities". They sound the same, but on a close view answers to both these questions vary drastically.

*** Its not that the kind of project managers who exist in the IT setup dont exist in other industries. Its just that we dont have any industry which is so damnn well spread across the Indian financial and manpower infrastructure. Here there is more money, more people and even more opportunities. This leads to more expectations and that where more angst is.

Hi can you help me..................

if yes then please provide some input to me in context of my profile...........thanks

Hi all,

By April 2009 I'll be having 1 year and 10 months of work experience. Can i apply for ISB? Because in almost all forums and in ISB site it has been mentioned that one must have 2 years of work experience. Does the 2 month difference matter?

Many thanks in advance

hey shiv
i guess the 2 year criteria is by the time you apply or by the time you join
but rather than taking risk you can call the admission officer in ISB to know
the criteria or better visit the ISB site you might find some info there regarding the same.
i will pm you there number as it is against the rules of PG to post any no. here
hope this helps

Hi PGs,

My profile
Acads -
Class X - 95.8 % (State Board)
Class XII - 84 %
B.Tech (EC) - 84%
M Tech (Communication - IIT Madras) - 8.9 GPA

Work ex -
By the time I apply- 3 yrs in Semiconductor Industry (Chip Design).
Overseas experience - 7 months.
Giving GMAT in July/Aug 08. Expecting > 700.

Extra curricular
Secretary of couple of organizations in college & several seminars & presentations. Little bit of charity work (not with NGOs)
Partial organization of cultural fests. Participated in sports & games.

Do you think that I can apply this year with the above profile or should I build up more of experience ?
What areas do I need to improve to be a contender for ISB 2009 batch ?
Will my additional Masters have any added advantage at all ?
Please comment

Thanks in advance

Guys...I have been a passive participant in these forums and like all the useful information being exchanged here.

Recently, I have been going through the thread where Mr.Ranga Rao provided some insight into the admissions process of ISB. He clearly mentioned that you need to have 2 years of experience by the time your batch starts...in this case by April 2009.

Good luck to you all...
