Pls advise!!!
a suit is the best suited attire for the occassion.but a fitting formal shirt is better than a ill fitting suit.

760-780? Is it an easy and sure thing to do? Are IT people gods that everyone can manage 750 with sublime ease?

Lets get this straight. You need 700+ to feel good to apply. With that kind of score you can go to any place and the place which denies you a seat for not scoring 750+ is simply not worth it. :satisfie:

For IT you need 740? Who said that? I see a lot of people here on PG itself who have got calls with 690-700+. I myself got call from ISB and IIM C with 710. And remember there are a lot of people who never post on PG. So there might be more out there. Once you get a call, you would always get a better chance to show they what you got.

So, IT people, don't read too much into this 740-750+ GMAT statements and work on making your apps better.
Buddy,
Cool down, I agree with u that GMAT scores is nt end of the world...in fact its is not even the beginning....u might have got though ISB OR EVEN wharton....but before commenting read through the posts...if u havent ..shut up...no one said that u need 730 toget through ISB..that is just the average score ...thats all...very natural...most people who r engineers have better quant skills... and thats obvious..we have studied maths... thats it...end of the world.... thats all...moreoevr interviews r also a matter of luck....specially in ISB...

God, why cant people go through all the posts before commenting and blabbering about which b schools they got through????:new_multi:

ISB provides feedback in the 1st week of may if you write to admissions office at that time. So you will get a "feedback" on where you lacked.

I dont think you will get a "fee back" of your app

Hope this helps

ATB!
It just depends on the app pool...........especially for ppl with less than 3yrs of work ex and an IT bckgrnd a GMAT score of 730+ is arnd the ISB avg....now I wld completely agree that the gmat cant really be used to judge a person but then certain schools like ISB are particular abt this ...they look at the entire profile too but at the same time the gmat score is important for a no. of factors.......most of the ppl applyin to ISB are from the IT backgrnd hence this is the most competitive pool....to differentiate urself a high gmat score wld hlp immensely....also the applicant might not bring anything new to classroom being frm IT in which case a high GMAT score wld keep ISB's avg GMAT high too...schools are quite particular abt this....so I wld beg to disagree and say that a high gmat is very important for a guy with an avg 2-3yr IT (programmin) exp...........i'm sure that u had a fab profile apart from the GMAT and hence you prob got a call.... this is just IMHO...

Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants - 15-10-2008, 05:07 PM

Here are the Qs asked to me during the interview
Q You are a re-applicant. When did you reapply?
Q What was the feedback received?
Q What have you done to improve your communication skills?
Q Tell us something about your first job experience? What were u doing
Q From your work experiences give us an example of a problem you faced in a team situation and what you did to resolve it

Analytical Case study- I have a machine which produces fake paintings. Each one painting costs 10L. Estimate the market size of such paintings.

Q You have any questions for us?

From the other guy who didn’t get a chance to speak till now
Q Post ISB goals

Q Specific companies in strategy consulting you want to target

Q Do you have a plan B?

The 100 word essay was on FABULOUS

Cheers
