Re: ISB 2009 Aspirants - 17-09-2008, 07:29 PM

another good practice for interview could be ... try to answer recommendation questions yourself .....

ISB Recommendation 2. Please rate the applicant's achievements when compared to those of his or her peers and mention the reference group with which you are making these comparisons. (100 words maximum)
ISB Recommendation 3. Please describe, in brief, situations where the applicant displayed signs of leadership abilities and team skills. (200 words maximum)
ISB Recommendation 4. Please mention two consistent strengths of the applicant and if possible provide instances where she/he demonstrated these strengths. (200 words maximum)
ISB Recommendation 5. Please indicate two areas where the applicant has shown learning and improvement which would add value to his application to the ISB. (100 words maximum)
ISB Recommendation 6. Please provide any other comments that you consider are relevant to the applicant's admission to the ISB, especially regarding the applicant's career in business/management. (200 words maximum)

Hi all,

With the forecasts of slow down in economy etc, whats your call on placements-2010? (If one joins in 2009). And it seems, ISB is also planning to increase its intake to 560 students in 2009.

Will it be a scenario of too many students and too few offers??

Your thoughts pls..

Hi All,

Any idea if ISB publishes an official list of "shortlisted" folks on their site? Or does everyone just wait for the email to come?

sigh.. it's going to be atleast another 2 - 3 weeks before we even start hearing about interview calls / dings...

By the way, anyone know why they're called "dings" ? Saw many folks say "got dinged" etc...

My take on the economy - it'll bounce back by 2010.. if not, it'll be upto the folks passing out of ISB in 2010 to get it back in order!

Sid.

aha ... someone has raised the topic i was waiting for ....
Lets see how's it going to affect ....

1. number of applicants going down as some of them will delay their application for another becuase of the fear of lower placements
2. Number of applicants going up as more and more out of job "bankers" will go back to achools this year.
3. ISB is a one year MBA, so i think there WILL be some impact on 2010 placements... one year seems too less to have a full recovery..
4. i dont think we have to worry on increase in total number of students, but it'll change the mix. It'll be tough for people aiming for IB and they'll fall in other categories ... now since IBs are mostly high paying jobs.... it may bring down the average salary....
5. "Sir, how do you think "THIS" is going to affect the placement scenario ?" I feel, It is going to be a very popular question to ISB interview panel....
