Thanks Columbia10admit for your help. I wanted to get more details about the ED agreement. Is this applicable for Indian schools also? For eg. If I get a Columbia Admit, but I also get an ISB admit, what are the repercussions?

Hey,
Thanks a ton for your encouraging words. Thats very true. Its extremely important to tie in my past, present and what role would my MBA degree play in getting me to my goal in the future.
My long term objective is to be in India (say when I look at myself 15-20 years down the line). But in the meanwhile I want to have international exposure over a substantial period of time in a foreign geography. Also I want to be in the financial services domain (whether it be IB or PE or Investment Mngt. or any other sub-segment of finance that I still need to figure out). From what I gather as the Fin Sevices industry has taken a beating, schools which are fin heavy like Columbia might be a bit more affected by the meltdown. How do the students look at their MBA degree (and specially the cost associated with it) at such times? For students who are graduating in this kind of a scenario do they tend to take a slightly more long term view in terms of breaking even in terms of their MBA cost? As I would be coming back to India at some point of time in the future after gaining some experience there, the length of the payback period at such times would be important for me to understand.
Also, as I am looking for a 2011 admit, what is your opinion of the possible market scenario in 2013? I know that its very difficult to foresee what'll be the state 4 years down the line but what are the pointers like. I am asking this as there are contrasting reports as to whether the recovery would take the form of a U, a V or in the worst case a prolonged bathtub kind of a shape. Any pointers from your side would be most useful.
Apologies for a rather long post and thanks for your patience.

HI
IVE GOT 2 YRS WORKEX.. with a weak quant score, good verbal score and bad bad gpa.. my story is unconventional because ive got workex as a broadcast journalist.. and looking to continue in media..overall gmat is decent.. but is columbia a good choice for me? and more importantly.. will they like me, considering i have heard theyre a very quant heavy school and thats where my troubles are..right from undergrad... also, would you suggest any other good schools in the top 15, where i might have a better chance and which might suit my story?
sorry if this is random..

Hello Columbia Admit.....
I would like to know whether it is possible for me to be a part of multiple Student Clubs .... I would primarily be interested in IDC (International Development Club) and Small Business Consulting Program .
From website it looks like one needs to devote a lot of time in both of these clubs. So is it possible for a student to contribute meaningfully, given the time constraints , to both these clubs?
