Sep 2007 intake has finished classes in Dec 2008 and thus have finished the MBA requirements. So these internships have no bearing on MBA. Since most companies have currently frozen Full Time hiring, people are working as interns and looking for Full Time offers. France does not have an OPT like system and HEC MBA participants can work as interns only till June 2009 (i.e. graduation after which their student status ends)

It will be nice if you can clarify.
Thanks

rahul,
Thanks; it is a very important piece of information for people aspiring to get into HEC.
Does this mean that those who are in January intake will have hardly any time to look for a job, since they may graduate within two months after completion of their classes and hence can't stay on in France and hence can't do internships also?

Not really. The program structure for Jan intake is quite different. They have an option of taking up an internship during the last four months of their program. e.g. Jan 2008 intake has also finished classes at HEC and many of them are pursuing internships now. However, unlike Sep intake, this internship is counted as part of their MBA requirement (because they are taking this as a replacement for exchange program with another school).

Hi,

I got I/v call from HEC today.
Surprisingly I had got a 'not called for interview' mail in Jan.

Those who've already got interviewed by HEC, can you post your i/v experience?
I'm specially worried about the presentation part... have no clue what to choose and how to prepare the presentation.

Congrats buddy.. Pick a topic you are comfortable with, which might or might not be related to marketing, eg. your native place, your hobbies, your views on the movie Slumdog. Something on which you can handle the grilling effectively, and you feel really passionate about. More importantly since this happens prior to interview, a good presentation kind of sets you in the right mood.

Hi,

I got my admit today too.. R2 applicant. That makes it 2 so far in the season for me.. IE and HEC. Waiting for the rest.

In the meanwhile,I'm just planning to apply for the scholarships and sit back and see if I get anything.

@gmat750 : Totally agree with rppandey.. go with something you are comfortable with.. I went with Comics.. .. if thats of any use.

Best of Luck.

In the mail they've written "Our Admission Office will contact you soon to arrange your interviews. "

How long do they take to get back with the interviewers and the location details?
After this, how long does the entire process till the final result take?

Hi gmat750,

I got a similar mail on 23rd Jan and the final admit on 26th Feb, so you can do the math . However, snce they gave you a delayed admission call, they might accelerate your process a bit. However, keep in mind that the HEC process involves 2 interviews and even in the best of situations, you are looking at at least 3 weeks before they can render an admit. Best of luck.
