Hi Rahul/Rosh

Can you please let us know more about the presentation part of the interview process? Do we need to prepare a Power Point presentation (since we are asked to bring our laptops). What kind of topics do we need to select for the presentation?
Also was there a provision of an overhead header which we can connect to our laptops? n typically is there nyone accompanying the interviewer during the interview or is it just one to one?
Thanks a ton for answering the queries.

I wd be travelling to a different city for my interview process...Can I schedule both the intervies on a single day?

After you have scheduled an interview, you will get a detailed mail about the interview process and names of the people who will interview you.

Presentation - It should be a 15 min presentation. The topic could be anything - personal, professional, hobbies, future plans. I know people who have presented on cartoon characters, leaders, sports etc. The interviewer would usually ask you why you selected the topic, so you should be prepared to answer it.

Don't think about the projector or any other electronic gadget. Take the presentation in your laptop and that should suffice. Also, don't forget taking some copies of your CV because the interviewer(s) might ask you to run them through your CV. The no. of interviewers should not exceed 2.

Hope this helps.

Re: HEC-Paris MBA - 17-03-2008, 09:47 AM

Greetings Deep Magic,

Though rahul has replied to your query, I thought it might help if I share my recent interview experience.

1) I had to travelled to a different state in US for my interview. While scheduling the interview, I requested both the interviewers to adjust me on an agreed date. They were quite flexible even though very busy.

2) You need to prepare a presentation on any topic...I mean any topic that you are comfortable with. You should be able to answer any questions that the interviewer might have on the presentation. If you don't know the answer, better smile and say that you don't know and need to check. Bear in mind, they are not going to drill you on the topic. They just want to see your level of comfort and confidence while delivering the presentation.

3) Be prepared to answer questions like:

Why MBA?
Why now?
Why HEC?
Why in France?
What will you bring to the school?
What if not HEC?
What other school r you looking at?
Questions from your essays and CV ?

And finally, do have some meaningful questions for the interviewer to answer.

Play it cool man. I'm sure you will do great in your interview. If you can score 750 in GMAT...this is nothing

Best of Luck!!
DK
