I came here to thank you first. ;-)

How is your quest for greener pastures going? And if you go, you know who gets the treat!

Thanks Simz....That gives little hope (considering there are close to 100 who are waitlisted, source: ISB Adcom) ... I hope he has informed ISB about his new status.

I called ISB this week and they said so far they have not received any cancellations but they have received two candidates who have deffered their admissions for later.

Well Bharath,

I dont know if he has informed ISB about his cancellation.. Ill do ask him though.. I can imagine how much each and every cancellation means to you..

However I think in most cases, there are students who pay the initial acceptance fees, then get admission somewhere else, take that, and dont bother to cancel their seats at ISB.. I dunno why they wudnt take the effort of writing one small email to ISB, wat sadistic pleasure they get out of it, but i believe thats how it usually happens.. as a result, there might be a few empty seats at ISB on the start of the term.. I have no idea wat ISB does in that case..

This is my opinion, and not an official line.. dont groan at me.. dont quote me either.. ATB.. I hope ur agony ends soon (with some good news ofcourse)..

Sam

Source: ISB Adcom? Are you serious? There are 100 others out there?

Sounds untrue...but that's what they told me when I called ISB this week.

Why dont you give it a try and see what they tell you?

PS: I wonder why those 100 odd people do not post here on Pagalguy

Re: ISB waitlisted candidate 2008-09 - 23-02-2008, 02:55 AM

Yeah, 100 candidates in WL does not look good at all. And you know bharat_bs, there are many ppl (like me) who do not post much in PG, but frequently check in to see what's happening. Never mind, but ppl are anxious. Very anxious. At least I am !! :-)

And here's the yahoo group link. I remember seeing more entries in the DB, but ppl must have deleted their entries - isbpgp2008 : ISB PGP 2008-2009

I am also wondering about the rationale behind keeping around 100 folks in the WL. So it's like around 25% more ppl are kept in the loop. Somewhere I read that the yield percentage for ISB was around 80 or so a couple of years ago. But those were days when ISB was nowhere in the top 20, 40, 100 etc. I suspect very few ppl will reject their ISB offers from the second round.

I may sound negative, but members of this community NEED to look forward. Otherwise this ISB anxiety is sure to kill us inside.

Take care and Good Luck,
SB

I was just wondering - how many offers are made so far? This may be the case that a total of 420 (no pun intended) offers are not made in R1 and R2. Can someone get this piece of info?

Yes, I too can call the adcom, but mine will be an international call :-) and odd hours for me !!
