AIM administration has already recognized the importnce of marketing itself. This year only, they have recruited few MBAs for their Institutional marketing team. It'll take them a few years to learn all the tricks of the trade but sure they are working in right direction. A new vision statement, new and improved website for its full time MBA school, Increased industry interaction and first ever advertisement for AIM, etc are nontheless some of their significant output.

It may be because AIM doesn't prepare its placement report as Inidan B schools do. I'm sure even if you go thru a placement report of a decent Indian B school you would know what i'm trying to say.
These reports do help you in getting a more insight in to figures. I reckon you must be a current student there in AIM. Why doesn't your batch convince the authorities there to have those figures presented ina more organised manner like
avg salary.median salary, sector wise break up of recruiting comanies.. sector wise break up of profiles offered etc..etc.
Indian B shcools havestarted even mentioning %age of ppl shifting careers, functions and industries and we do not even have basic figures of AIM.
Please note I'm in no way trying to compare AIM to Indian B schools but I do feel as its prospective student this year that these kind of figures and presentation does have a long term effect in attracting talent from Inida (atleast). And if indeed we have such nice figures as quoted by you why not to flaunt it..It will make the AIM brand shine brighter than ever.
I'm pretty sure current students and the students coming in are more than happy and eager to help the school become a major force in India. and I feel thingslike placement reports are the first step towards such a goal. |
