Hi all,
I havent been very regular on pagalguy.. but have been following threads on AIM-2008 since the last few weeks.. and glad to see this particular thread devoted to GD/PI discussions..

Extra-curricular-Decent (worked with some NGOs, etc)
Work Profile- Manager at Intellectual Property (IP) division of a KPO (Total work ex: 3+ years)

I have opted for Delhi...Well just as the GD/PI countdown started, people (i know) have started to raise questions on AIM Brand and will the college be the launching pad for your career in South east Asia????How well is the Brand AIM recognized in india and does it have the recognition equivalent if not of IIM's then atleast FMS,XLRI's or SIBM's....I feel it has been mixed reaction from people (who i have encountered) on the AIM...
Puys What's your take??

Mridul | The reason why AIM has a bad image is because of the importance indians give to placements . With even small b-schools boasting of 100% placements , people will ofcourse be a little apprehensive about AIM that too when many lakhs have to be spent. what will happen to IIMA if it says they wont have placements from this year but will keep the teaching methodology. profs and facilities intact ? obviously it would disappear after 2 years . From the many feedbacks i have read , AIM is ( if not better ) like anyother great indian b-school minus the placements. Nobody questions harvard or wharton for not having placements. Truth be told, having many Indian students is sometimes a disadvantage for schools .
Regarding AIM's recognition among indian companies , you have a very high probability of getting placed in india than any where else .
P.S : I have the same doubts that anybody who applies to AIM has . Lets get the admit in hand and then think of joining . | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to leonadis For This Useful Post:

I wonder if they come back out of choice... Or because it is hard to get urself a job in SIngapore or SOuth-East Asia after AIM... would be glad if someone could throw some light on this.. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to amithar For This Useful Post:

So why go somewhere else when your own country is booming , unless you are determined to work overseas . The latter head to singapore and rest of our junta head back. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to leonadis For This Useful Post:

Hi Amithar!
If you are thinking long term, then India and China jobs are what you should be looking for. I guess your apprehension on that direction may root from your vision of yourself (short term vs.long term)
Besides, B-school investments are really, really long term. You'd need about 10-15 years to really get to the top spot in a company. (unless you start your own business) Quote:
