1. Can I still apply for the MBA in AIM for the september batch?

Yes you can. Last date for submitting the application is 11 April. You will need to get your form from the AIM representative office in Mumbai.

2. What is the procedure to apply to AIM with the XAT score?

As per my knowledge they do not consider the XAT score. Its either GMAT or AIMAT. Please call then up and confirm.

3. Got 98 percentile in XAT, with that what is the probability of getting through with it?
4. Though my experience is of 1 year but the quality of experience is good
(atleast I think so) So what are my chances that they will consider my application?.

Regards,
Rohit
Hope this gives you some direction forward.

Regards,
Nirav

Hello,

1. Yes, AIM does assess your performance and (unfortunately) would advise you to reevaluate your MBA plans if you don't meet their expectations.

2. Finance is AIM is hard-- they stretch you in that respect; that's probably why even the weakest in our batch could be an average finance student in other schools. I admit, I have zero finance background prior to coming to AIM, but I could discuss risk management & hedging with some decent level of comprehension.

3. Placement in AIM is not at par with Indian b-schools-- a very nice job will not be handed over to you in a silver platter. I'm saying this to set your expectations. You have to at least some effort to really find a good placement after.

Hope this helps.

I READ IN A STUDENTS BLOG THAT AFTER 200 DAYS OF MBA PROG
THERE IS EVALUATION ON ITS BASIS PEOPLE ARE THROWN OFFFF.

as far as i know no other inst in india except IIFT does this.

lets get realistic gather some data from alumni and current students, this is another dimension that needs to discussed, i strongly urge all to gather data as soon as posiible on following issues-

1) evaluation details - i invite raqudenn to pls clarify bec getting throwqn off is big issue.

2) finance focus - what i could gather is that AIM is TAXING tooo much on finance , PLS advice whether people with ni finance back ground should take some course. before joining.

3) calling all old and new members to focus on exact stats about placement in monetary terms so that R O I can be calculated on realistic basis .

FOCUS GUYS RATHER AIR TICKETS AND PCCC focus on these issues.

Re: AIM Manila 2008: GD / PI Call Getters - 12-04-2008, 02:47 PM

Can someone tell me what the average salaries of AIM graduates are? My friend was enquiring about an education loans and his calculations are making me nervous. I think for AIM you will need to take a loan of around 15 lakhs.

Loan Amount: 15 Lakhs
Rate of Interest: 12%
Duration: 60 months

Interest per month: 12%/12 = 1% of 15 lakhs = 15000
Principal per month: 15 Lakhs / 60 = 25000
Total EMI per month: 40000!!!

My cousin's take home salary after a package of 17 lakhs is only around 1 lakhs per month. I think somewhere I read that AIM graduates get around 8-9 lakhs post MBA. Now that will mean a take home of only around 55-60000. If out of that 40000 goes in Educational loan EMI alone then only 15-20000 remains for house rental/loan and living costs!

Those figures do not look good at all to me!!!

You'll graduate in 2009 dec....
Current average for an AIM graduate is about 12 LPA ... and placement scene is fast improving .... by the time u graduate, average salary wud increase to 14 (Minimum).

And within a year ... normally, an MBA graduate gets a minimum 20% of salary hike .... u might be a bit constrained in ur first year .... from second year onwards ... u'll start thanking urself for the investment u made towards AIM MBA
Not to forget, if u r some of the luckiest enough to get a job in A D Little (S$ 180,000 per annum) or OLAM ($ 65000) or Citibank India (17 LPA) or HSBC Philippines (40 LPA) Infy Boston ($100,000) or many other such companies, u'll be able to do away with the tension of loan in first year itself

Cheers.
