MBA in Australia - Melbourne Business School

Hi All,

So far in my hunt for target B schools I've focussed on US & European S schools. Have not given a hard thought to Australian B schools.Here is my profile.

GMAT - 660
Work ex - 4 years in IT (1.5 years as a Team lead), worked in US & Canada for 2 years. Currently in Canada.
Degree - B.E from Mumbai.
I want to get into Strategic consulting. Appreciate if someone can provide some inputs on the suitability of my profile for MBS. Also, is there anyone who had US B schools in my mind and ended up in MBS or AGSM? Just want to know what factors go in favor of MBS than US/Europe B schools. Would like to have a perspective on this.

My score and work profile seems matching you...

score: 690 and work ex 3.5 yrs by jan' 09..

I am into sales function in Siemens.. Where r u working...

Thats a bit of shocking news!! Their website is still up and talks about 2008 intake. Are we talking about the same school? Australian Graduate School of Management

I guess what Tammireddy probably meant was that the AGSM in its current form is no longer a collaboration between UNSW and University of Sydney. So the MBA ranking before the split may not hold good any more.

Well I work in a Natural Gas company with Operations as my domain. Am looking at Strategic/ Operations Consultancy post MBA.

If your undergraduate degree is in English medium, then TOEFL not req. Australian universities prefer IELTS over TOEFL. And for the Australian visa req you have to give IELTS. But thats later in sequence.

You can send the documents even before completing the online appl just to speed up the whole process. My status shows that my application is with application committee. I got a conformation that all my documents have been received by them.

I was a bit confused on the TOEFL / IELTS.. it was cleared now.. will submit my app and then take a test later...

please tell me.. one thing..my refrees will be able to view my reco letter only after i submit my appl..but how will send the hard copies of the letters of recomendation as it will directly be mailed to the college...?
will keep you bothered for few more days.. all the best for your application..keep me posted on the developments

Brother,
Either you have to send the soft copy or the hard one. Once you submit the application, your referees can submit the online question form directly.

So you can send them the materials (application) right now....
