IIM Indore EXPGP Interview and Beyond

Hi holy,

I am manoj from bhopal, I have appeared for interview
on 20.04.2008 at Indore. Most of the guys of our group
were interviewd for 5-10 minutes. Does appearing in
interview at final stages has any impact on chances of
selection. Also I have submitted GMAT score of 680
(Oct'2004) . Will that impact on chances of selection.

Hi Manoj,

It does not matter at all! Whether u appear early or late it does not matter, what matter is how did u peform. The final results are prepared once all feedback is received for all the students interviewed. GMAT score of 680 is a good score and your chances are quite good!

Dear Holy smoke
This is Nitin. I had appeared for the PI on 7/4 at N.Delhi. My CAT 07 score is 90 percentile and I am B.tech in textile chemistery. Currently I am working with a MNC company and my Job profile includes business promotion sales and technical services for chemicals in the textile industry. I have a total work ex of about 7 years.
I was the first to be interviewed in my batch, It lasted for about 18 min. There were two persons in the panel. One person kept on grueling me and said that as I am in sales and have to travel a lot so I will not be able devote enough time and cant cope with the course. I was having a bad throat on that day and so kept a cardamom in my mouth, he asked me to go out and through it out.
The other guy asked me a few questions about my industry, my community, Punjabi culture ,my weaknesses , what I am going to contribute if selected etc, I suppose that I answered them well.
According to me the interview was 50:50.
Can you comment something?

I am interested for IIMI EXEC program . Can anybody tell me what I have to do. Should I have to score well in GMAT. I am preparing for that. I am working in IBM having 4 yrs work x.

Hi,

All results at all IIM's have been held up because of OBC quota stuff going on..

You should expect something in second or third week of May 2008.

Hi Nitin,

If you told the prof why u kept cardamom in ur mouth, then there is no need to worry. These are some of the pranks they throw at u to test your patience and courage. He was just trying to test your commitment for this course by repeatedly telling u that u will not be able to do justice to this course.

I think you did reasonably well and your profile and CAT score all are decent!

Best wishes for the final result, but u will have to bear it for some time, because the results are getting delayed this time. You should expect something after 15th May only

Hi Thr, I am from Delhi n I wanted some clarifications, if possible. I have converted IMT G and IMI Ex Calls.Joining IMI Delhi as of now. Now since the IMI course is starting on 23 June I wl hav to resign by max 23 may so that I could serve the notice period. Meanwhile my IIM Ex result is awaited and resigning 4m my current job will mean that I wl end up with a work ex of 4 yrs n 10 months( not 5 yrs). Wat wl happen then supposing that I am extremely lucky enough to get an admission calll from iim?? I am really in a fix about first my work ex and secondly my job. Even if the IIM result comes by may end and luckily if i clear in that case also I wl nt be able to work in my present org as i am not sponsored candidate.Further the letter of recomendation was nt taken well in my organization( it was in my favour but still........) wat should i do now ?Plz ponder on this unique prb and do reply.B Tech-- Mechanical and AutomationWorked for 4 yrs in R&D --Industrial M/c and Automotive sector Presently working as a Patent AnalystCat 07-92.2% Interview was satisfactory.

Hi,

I can understand your situation. Its really very complex. Just let me know how was ur interview at IIM Indore. The only hope for u, I believe is that the IIM results come before 23rd May. That seems a possibility now. PGP results have come today, so EPGP should be around as well. I will try to find out for u from EXPGP office.But anyways, please try to differ your resignation as long as possible..One more thing, why do u want to serve the notice period of one month. You can always buy the notice period. So you will have ample time to see the results and then decide. If you get IIM, nothing like it..If not, then u can always decide where u want to go. I believe this is the best option, the only thing u will loose is some money and that is not important at this stage.

Your profile is good and the interview went well.. Then u r on the way to IIM campus.

hi .....thanks for replying so promptly....my interview lasted for 15 mins primarily on patents patent valuation and pricing shift from manf to IPR etc ans satisfactorily to most.......then thy wanted me to convince them that i wl devote time towards this course n that i wl not resign 4m my current job... which i did competently and convincingly.....rest was good...the major prb i am facing is work ex ...probably short by 2 months n believe me my company is nt going to support me in ny manner i wl nt be able to wrk here till aug first week (so that i may complete dot 5 yrs of work ex) it wl be short in ny case. ......even if i clear iim n think that i can continue here for next three months.....it wl be simply foolish for me to think on these lines i can be dumped any time now............yes really complex .the max i can do is to work in some small organization.....i guess work is work and i hope people respect even small kinda of work ex...... i am extremely grateful to u for first understanding my prb n then replying to it........cannot buy notice period as its upto their discretion....thy hav fired people on 1 day notice and also hav askd others to serve full 1 month notice.....in that case it wud be too risky if i continue working here after 23rd may my imi adm wl be at risk this way thy want documents on june 23......i may sound a bit rigid in finding solutions but frankly speaking i am facing this prb ...rest wl wait for the result nhope for the best......regards n thanks
