I just wanted to know about banking/consultency companies coming for campus placement of EPGP.
I have my GMAT appointment for July last week and trying for IIMA/C EPGP.
Please give me some input.
Thanx | Hi,
They do come at the campus and for the details u will have to wait till Feb 2009, till the officials placements are concluded.
If you get good GMAT and get final calls from A and or C, u can join them else u can continue here. I got ISB in Dec 07 , but I continued here, that was my choice and I feel happy that I made it.I can only say u will not be disappointed at all, primarily because u seem to have decided to work exclusively for ur MBA! Moreover, the timing of ur graduation from all the 3 institutes would be the same, march april 2010.
So u are in good stead, make ur choice judiciously and then decide.
Best of luck for GMAT.
Cheers

If you treat IIM as a placement agency where u come and get ur salary multipled by a factor of X, where X > 1; then u better start investing in stocks or in real estate. All those who come to IIM should come with long term goals in mind. EPGP will give u a world class education, provided ur ready to slog and learn. What u gain here may reap immediate dividends or may not, that depends upon N factors and all of them depend upon yoursleves!! But yes, if you take ur education in right perspective, a whole world of opportunity opens before you, where money is a less important factor.
HSR | Hello HSR!
First of all, thanks very much 4 ur valuable inputs. I also got selected for EPGP-2008. Whatever u wrote is really very encouraging. However, money,ROI is also very important to me apart from world-class edu' n IIMI branding. Let me be very clear..
I got 5.5 yrs of experience in BSNL. So, I don't have big pay n savings. Apart from it, I also have home loan n family. Thatz why, I am forced to bother about ROI after EPGP to meet atleast 6 lakh study loan, home loan, family expenses, eventhough I am ready to slog n burn the mid-night oil.
What I want to hear from u is about the chances of getting campus placement. U told that the value addition of this course is very good. Whether the industry perceives the value addition of IIMI-EPGP at par with that of other premium B-Schools like ISB,IIMA,IIMC..
Also, since Official Placements for EPGP-2007 are not yet completed n nobody can hardly make a guess about Placements n ROI, do u suggest me to join EPGP-2008 batch or wait for One year full-time EPGP-2009 @ IIMI or try out for other full time courses like ISB,IIMA,IIMC,XLRI,..
Happy Time

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in reply. I was too busy with course work. EPGP is equivalent to what is offered at IIMA/C/L and ISB. Infact, this was the first one and it was planned that this will be jointly offered with IIM A, but what happened is history! As far as my experience goes ,there is no difference in the way the industry views this course. My interaction with the industry has been on a very positive note!
There are very good chances of getting good to excellent placements after this course, at least for your batch. I am sure that our batch is going to set standards of sort here. But again, the level of placement that u get is directly proportional to the efforts, u put in and the overall personality that u have after this course. I can give u N number of examples, where people have been frustrated with the kind of placements they have got from other similar and supposedly more reputed IIMs even after spending twice the amount of money.
Waiting for a year can be good idea, provided ur very sure that u will get entry in 2009 here or any other good course. Are u sure you will get that?
Secondly, since for you ROI is very important , do you think you will be in a position to spend twice the amount of money next year , without any gurantee of its quick ROI?Also, next year onwards all courses will be full time, there will be absolutely no chance for u to earn. So, add your one year salary plus expenses to the money you have to spend for your course.
If answer to above questions is yes, then its better to drop this year and start afresh next year. If no, then use your wisdom taking all factors in mind and then decide. The decision has to yours and only yours. Do take a decision after taking everything under consideration.
Hope this helps!

Dear All,
This is a big news!
EXPGP @ IIM INDORE has gone into a FULL TIME MODE starting from class entering 2009 with an INTERNATIONAL COMPONENT BUILT INTO the Program.
THE WEBSITE STILL NEEDS TO BE UPDATED!
Here are some of the highlights! POST GRADUATE PROGRAMME IN MANAGEMENT FOR EXECUTIVES (Ex-PGP) The Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (Ex-PGP) of IIM Indore, is a full-time 12-month programme uniquely designed to develop the potential of executives and entrepreneurs by providing them an opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and attitudes. Through an efficient modular design, combined with innovative assignments, team
projects and an international module, the Ex-PGP will enable participants to effectively deliver superior performance at theirworkplace. Selection The selection will be based on candidate’s academic record, scholastic achievements, performance in CAT/GMAT, personal interview and relevant work experience after graduation. Program Structure and Curriculum The 12-month programme consists of 5 terms. The first two terms have compulsory courses that act as building blocks for the subsequent terms. The programme initially focuses on building a broad foundation of theoretical knowledge about management through core modules covering various functional areas. During the later phases of the programme, the focus will be on specialisation through elective courses.
The international module in the last term will provide global exposure to the participants enhancing their capability to work effectively in multicultural environment. Pedagogy The pedagogy will be a judicious mix of lectures, case discussions, project work, term papers, role-play, seminar presentations, assignments, videos, management games, and simulations. Award of Diploma On successful completion of the programme, participants’ will be awarded the “Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives” Programme Fees and Payment Schedule The programme fee is Rs 11,00,000/-, which covers tuition, teaching materials, computer use, lodging and boarding duringthe residential period and expenses for the international module (travel, accommodation, board and tuition only). Personal expenses such as travel, clothing and laundry will have to be borne by the participant. Fee for NRI/ International candidate is US$ 35000. The fee is subject to revision.
Friends can ask as many questions as possible on this!
Thanks,

I deliberately delayed responding to your question. I was waiting for the CAT bulletin as I wanted to confirm whether or not the course has turned FULL time or not. And YES, it has!
YOur GMAT score is decent and ur profile looks impressive. You have good chance of entry. However, I expect the competition to get into this course getting more intense as it has moved into a FULL time mode and with International Component built into it.
You have to do very well in the interview.
Hope this helps!

This is indeed a good news for the course. It definitely makes it more visible and attractive.
But I hope industry rates the current and modified structure at par otherwise it will be a disadvantage for the current and our(2008-10) batch.
HSR, what your batch thinks about it? Also I believe there is no change in course content apart from the newly introduced international module. Can you also give details on this?
Once again thanks for your information on this thread. Keep the good news flowing | | | | | | | |
