As always, I have reliable sources to support my argument.
You can disagree with me all you want - but you are wrong!
Articles like this are published in Canada's reputed newspapers almost every day!
Just open your eyes guys..

TheStar.com | Ideas | Brain Drain II: Immigrants let glass ceiling gather dust

This is an issue with not just well educated immigrants but skilled second generation immigrants of colour
(Chinese/Indian, Canadian born MBAs/Masters students etc.) Obviously their situation will be better than recent immigrants but they will still always face "glass ceilings" because of their colour.

"But Canada, with its declining birth rate and aging population, can't afford to lose its most talented immigrants and their children, who now dominate professional programs and graduate schools across the country" -TorontoStar
TOO LATE. YOU LOST RAHUL JUNEJA TO THE USA! HE GLADLY DID HIS MBA AT BABSON AND IS NOW LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM.

After a few emails questioning why I deleted my posts - I have decided to respond to the forum as a whole. I decided to take my schulich comments off after a moral and ethical debate. I am firmly confident that my opinions (based on real experience, first hand knowledge etc) about Schulich are correct. At the same time I felt I could have been influencing the minds and ultimately decisions of others. This was not something I wanted to be a part of. Please use your own tools and research to form your own judgements and conclusions. Do not commit to any school without thorough research of your own.

You know my stance on this school vs others and it is very clear - it will never change.

Cheers,

Rahul.

Dear Rahul:

I truly appreciate your last post. It is always a best practice to reflect upon our actions and thoughts in order to improve our judgement (win-win situation!) However, after more than one year posting on PG I have found that the large majority of its members are smart, reflexive and confident individuals. We may sometimes agree on/argue about important or trivial issues but at the end of the day we all go to bed and sleep. I think you made a mistake by erasing your posts because principles such as democracy, freedom of expression and diversity were damaged by this. We may be right or wrong but we add value by sharing, testing and/or confronting our ideas. Being thanked or groaned at means that our opinion counts so I hope you keep posting and sharing your views an ideas with us. I do not apologize for groaning at the content of one of your posts but I do if you felt I groaned at your well spirited intention. Take care and have fun. Cheers from cloudy Lima,

Peruvian Guru

PS. I am sorry for my rusty English, need to brush it up a lil bit!

Re: Schulich (York univ) applications and admits - 2008 batch - 10-04-2008, 10:36 PM

Guys,
just got the mail.
I've also got an admit from Schulich.
One thing im worried though is the $60K tuition and $30K living expenses.
Is it worth it?
I've also got admit in HHL - Germany (total expenses, including living = 12lakhs),
Grenoble (18 - 20 lakhs).

So any suggestions on what I can do?
Also I heard that scholarship decision will be made only once I confirm my
place in schulich, so have any of you confirmed your places?

Hoping to hear from you soon,
you can contact me on 9944473921.

Thanks,

Deepak.

Hi sunil

Congrats on the admit.
Don't know much about German B schools, so can't comment on that.
About schulich, it is a decent B school and the fees is almost same as any college in North America.
Do your own research and choose the best B school.

I have paid the initial deposit and have not got any scholarship.

Cool so we have 3 people here... i got in touch with a couple of students and they say the teaching is good but they even quoted the recession in US which maybe a cause of concern... but hopefully by the time we graduate this should be ok...

I am yet to apply for visa and also I have to think about the stay there too... I will be finalizing a few things by this month end ...
Also there is an orkut group on Schulich where you can find some students who are helpful with the queries..

Cheers,
Sunil

Well, I am positive about not joining Schulich.
As much as I am impressed by its popularity, rankings, etc, it is still a
very costly option for me.
I also spoke to Ms. Anne who is responcible for scholarship, apparently
the schols r over.
All the best to you two..

Best regards,

Deepak.
