I am pursuing my gmba in IB(jan0, sameer is quite right when he says that ppl with relevant wrk ex in finance get a higher paying jobs,particularly ppl with CA, and CFA are prefferd over.But then those ppl are at a stage in their carreer where they deserve such salaries.Its same for IIM as well.
But that doesnt mean that ppl with engg background are at disadvantage, i am an engg(NITK),and frm software bckgrn(16 mnths), one thing i cud say from my experience till know is that mathmatics and anlytical skills one gains during engg, holds one in advanatage over pure commerece bckgrnd ppl.In terms of learning and knowledge a gud anlytical bckgrnd gives u a advantage.
Placements u get are function of your knowledge ,and their are numerous examples where ppl with engg backgrnd have cracked gud jobs in spjcm.Ppl with engg bckrnd should not hold themselves back thinking about relvant wrk ex, if you have passionate about the subject,ur engg degree would only be an advantage.
all these are my personal observations,i hope they are useful.

since the SMM placements are being conducted in the dubai campus, we do not have much info.

Hi all
I have talked to few friends at dubai so i have got the news
at dubai campus
more or less all marketing guys are placed at great packages.
Highest is near 15 in india and average being 10 11 and overseas placements have been very good.
still more comapniesa re coming so anyways 4 5 guys who are left shud be placed.
regarding GLSCM exact figures i dont know but scene is good.
