Things have been really good out here ! The batch profile is quite good and that enables peer learning as well ..Only thing being that since this is a 1 year course things move at a reasonable pace . so even before u realise u might have jumped over to the next term.
But then i must say the proffesors whom we have dealt with till now have been really good , talented and innovative as well , probably among the best in the industry !

I saw the FAQs in the website and it seems 87 crosses the required cut off
But will it be competitive enough...whats the avg cAT percentile of ppl who get calls and who get selected in SP.. in ur batch and in the previous batch

I also had Jan 08 call in IT which i got deferd to May 08, due to time constraints;

My profile:

GMAT - 680,5.5;

3.5 years work exp. in IT

consistent acads over 75% and actively in sports throughout;
onsite exp. 1.5 years

I was a spectator on PG till now but hope can add some value to this thread;

It feels gr8 to see that some one for that college is helping you, where u aspiring to go......Nways i have few more queries for you. If you dont mind.

1) you must be knowing that Spjat is ard 2 weeks from now. I need to know that whether the authorities conduct the aptitude test again for may intake apart from this 2feb,08 exam. Actually i dont want to take second chance dis time and wanna prepare to the best.

2) Whether there is any advantage if you apply early as the deadlines are upto 31st march. Last time i applied at around the deadline only.

3) In the previous application, I applied under IB....so this around i ll be applying under Finance only may be WM. As 1st stage of application involves no essays ...only form filling. so how can i emphasize them to shortlist my name for 2nd stage process. As i dont have finance background and moreover if i will opt for other branch, they might ask me why i have choosen IB in Jan intake??????

I am not sure if you are aware that the GMAT cutoff is 650 (as per the website).You have 610 which is less than the cutoff limit. My understanding is that its this factor that has done you in.
IB is one of the most sought after specz at SPJCM. So the competition automatically shoots up.
Your profile in general looks fine & so is your exp but since you are applying for IB which is different from your current work profile, U have to have exhibit something extraordinary through your GMAT or Some certifications in finance related field etc. This all is to attract the attention of Adcom to get your application noticed.

Now its quite possible that your knowledge in finance will be Wonderful but that is something you can only show during an interview, now to to get a call for interview you got make a strong application.

Its always more likely that you may get a call if you apply to a stream( i feel is PMM/GLM for you) which is more close to your current work profile.

But having said that , its important you don’t compromise on your Interest , if your interest is in finance than apply for finance. Remember you cannot afford to commit a mistake here by choosing a spez simply because it has more probability of getting you in.U are not going to enjoy it later believe me.

So think hard and yes give SPJAT to get a good percentile and than apply for the Specz that you truly passionate about.
