Well u have spoken to the right ppl and if they have told you so , than u got to believe it.
Infact Spjain Mumbai or Dubai both don’t have high cutoffs, look at Mumbai this time they have openly said 85% will be cutoff and for Dubai/Singapore its 80, Percentile combined with other parameters will fetch you a call. U will find numerous cases where someone with higher percentile fails to get call but some one with lower % gets, this is simply for the reason that the overall profile of latter would have been better in some ways.

Now for you or me or anyone else , its very difficult to judge who gets a call or not. None of us knows for sure how they decide to roll out the calls. All we can do is to remain positive and be well prepared for Interview. Mind you even the best of the profiles may end up getting a dinge if he/she fails to impress the panel during interview and an avg kind of a profile gets a convert for he/she was smart enough during interview.

Just to add , during Jan intake ,During evaluation i did meet some ppl with percentile of around 81 or so who had got calls for GD/PI. So the lady who u spoke to has not told you anything wrong.

So as long as u cleared the Cutoff , u should not worry. Your focus should be more of preparing for GD/PI.

The dates for SPJAT for MAY 2008 intake are out and is to be held on 2nd feb, and this time its for 1 hr.
I have 90%ile in CAT 07 but wud like to appear for SP JAT also(dont want to take any chances)

Also what kind of GK do they ask, actually my GK is weak, any suggestions to improve on this front.

There were some 5-6 sections with some 5-10 questions each, with a time limit ranging from 7-15 min each.I have gave exam long back , so dont remember the exact details.


For Gk questions , do go through some Bussiness related stuff, Indian History/politics( questions like: Who should President of india give his resignation to?) ,Actually its too generic and there were questions from every corner you can think of.

Last year it was June 22. This year it seems its going to be sometime in May( as website calls it a May intake instead of June intake). Let's ask this query to Rutty on the official thread to get the possible dates when the course commences.
