1. There cannot be a straight answer to such questions. Your motivations, your personality and your overall package will eventually decide if you make it or not. I know people with 780 GMAT who didnt make it and I also know people with 660 to got through. Consider yourself a product and prepare your own unique marketing pitch.

2. Work permits is still a pain in the backside. Almost all countries will need your employer to sponsor the work permit. But of course, some countries are lenient than others and some employers are stronger than others.

Hope that helps !

Hi beckbencher!

thanks for your prompt reply.
In respect to your second answer , all i am trying to understand is will I be able to repay the loan back. what i mean is that we cannot repay the amount by working in India right? Someone has to sponsor thw work visa . I have lived in the US and I am aware of the Immigration system here .
And what I understand , is mostly europe based firms recruit from Insead , so do they always sponsor a candidate or they require them to be Uk/elsewheres citizens .

Thanks

Re: INSEAD Alumni - Q&A on INSEAD Experience and Admission Process - 17-10-2008, 01:53 AM

Hello,

I am planning for MBA in singapore, have not taken up GMAT yet.
I am planning to target the Jan 2010 intake.

I have a work experience of 3 yrs in IT currently (at the time of application it will be 4 yrs)
I am a B.E graduate with above 70%

I wanted to know, is my experience enough for INSEAD.
Also, what is the average GMAT score that is acceptable there?

Thanks,

Hi,

I am targeting Jan2010 intake at INSEAD.
My profile is as follows:

B.Tech: Reputed college (7.3/10)
M.Tech: IIT Roorkee (8.3/10)
GMAT: 710 / 4

I am a 5 year IT experience (by Sep09) candidate including around 1 year of international experience in Netherlands. Most of my experience has been at Client locations in both India and abroad. I am also a certified internal quality auditor for my company and have been the head of the student bodies during my college (both at graduation and Masters). I also have a international pulication on my name.

What are my chances of getting into INSEAD?

Hi Suraj,

Based on my experience, if any big recruiter is interested in you then work permits is not an issue. It can be processed. There are quite a few non European grads from INSEAD who take up employment in Europe.

All the best.

INSEAD looks for Academic Potential, which comes through your GMAT and past academic potential, and Individual Strength which comes from your leadership potential, international experience, business acumen and overall personality.

There cannot be a straight forward answer to "What are my chances" based on GMAT and years of experience. It doesnt matter if you have 5 years of experience or not if you have not shown potential to lead in a global set up.

All the best.

After some serious analysis, I think you should take your GMAT on 21st Jan in the afternoon session. And it could also help if you changed your name from Sandeep to Sandeip.

On a serious note, go to INSEAD - Welcome to the Business School for the World, check their deadlines for the class you want to apply to and decide for yourself when you should give your GMAT. One month before the deadline or one day before the deadline, it all works equally well.

All the best.
