Hi,

Can any of the applicants tell me how much time did NUS take to get back to you after you had submitted you applications. I think the second of my referee reports was submitted sometime in the first week of Jan but I still dont see that being reflected on the site.

Regards
Varun

Hi,

I have decided to join NUS finally out of HEC/Queens/NUS.
I wanted to know if anybody has any idea about loans and which banks are giving good rates.
Also, I have heard that if we apply in a group for loans the banks give lesser interest rate by upto 1%.
Please let me know if anybody knows anything regarding this.

Thanks
Priyanka

my humble 2 cents for NUS MBA discussion.

Singapore is a fantastic country to live in. The economy is booming. NUS as itself is a great university. NUS Business School also has a very good reputation. They are going to have a new building. So, everything is very fine so far...

Every program has its pros and cons. But I cant agree when somebody is putting some facts without knowing their true face. NUS MBA comprises of indians and chinese. Thats the fact. Well, there is a statement that NUS MBA brings together 20 nationalities. Lets look closer.
1. They are including here the students of part time MBA as well. It is natural that in Singapore you will have lot of expats. But lets ask about full time MBA, where all the members of PG is striving for. They have brought into the class the people from exotic countries like Myanmar, Bhutan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. I was very surprised to learn that none of this guys has written even GMAT. Also they have one or two person from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. But they dont make the weather in class. The european students are 2 categories: girls who have fiancee or husband who is living/working in Singapore. The guys who have their wifes/fiancees from Singapore. So they dont have an option to leave Singapore.
I am not NUS MBA student and not even from NTU I am realist.
My personal opinion that NUS has good potential to develop backed by good faculty and university. But it will take years and years. Btw, Singapore Management University is going to launch 1 year MBA with Wharton.

Hey All,

I posed this post to a current Full-Time MBA NUS student and a very very good friend of mine (and so would never lie to me) and her reply to one of the very serious allegations of accepting people without GMAT.

Yes there is a guy from Azerbaijan and one more from one of the other countries mentioned above. Both of them have exceptional profiles. The guy from Azerbaijan had an excellent record in the army. The other guy also has an excellent profile. Their profiles was the main reason for their selection. BUT both of them were required to appear for the GMAT. NUS DOES NOT ACCEPT ANYONE WITHOUT GMAT!

Tomorrow my friend has a submission and so is not free to answer in more detail. Will provide more details and answers to the other concerns mentioned later.

@tribe_leader - BTW ... Are you in any way related to Singapore Management University?

Thanks,
Abhishek.

Hi Abishkek,

As far as I see you are big fan of NUS MBA. My congratulations with admission to your dream school.
As I said I am not involved with any of parties. But I do want that the people being misleaded. I dont want to claim that the guy from Azerbaijan or from another less known country is worse than Indian or Chinese guys. I am realist and I am talking with facts not assumptions. I understand that the MBA student is not the best person to address the admission related issues.
Always be realist and dont let your feelings to blind your logic.

Re: NUS MBA (Full-Time) Class of 2008-09 - 31-01-2008, 03:18 AM

hi

i have a work experience of 4 1/4 years by july 2008 and has submitted my application fro NUS full time MBA.

I am planning to opt for finishing the course in 12 months .( if i get an amit)
I have few doubts here

1. Will there be placements even if i finish 12 months

2. Can any tell me how many of the previous batch students are doing there jobs in India through placements?

3 .I will be having 2 years of international experience (I am curretnly in UK). Will this experience count for my admit.

Please suggest me whether 17months mba would fetch me a better job or with 4 yrs of exp can i go for a 12 month.

Thanks in advance
