What was the number that you called up to schedule ur interview via landline.

I hope that is not the case.. Had talked to someone from the adcom over the phone.. They told me that the mail didnt indicate anything like waitlisted and it just means that they need more time to review our apps.. lets see wat happens..

all the best..

Re: Interview Details - 10-01-2008, 11:42 PM

I came out of a meeting with a US-based client at around 9 PM (IST) ready to go home only to find that someone was calling from a number starting with +1979... It was a US country code but a very unfamiliar state code.

It was only when the person at the other end asked for me by name, did I remember that I had completely forgotten about my Mays interview scheduled for today at 9 PM (IST)!!! I had scheduled a Skype interview but realized that at that moment I did not have access to Skype from the office. The lady offered to reschedule the interview. But I requested to give the interview right then and there and she obliged.

1. Walk me through your resume.
2. Any managerial experience.
3. Why MBA?
4. Why Mays?
5. What Specialization?
6. Post-MBA plans.
7. Where else have you applied?
8. How would you choose where to go?
9. How would you differentiate yourself from the other Indian IT applicants?
10. Told me what her concerns about me are and asked if I can justify.
11. Any questions for me?

She then said that they might have an Adcom meeting before the end of this month and might let me know of a decision by Jan end. She then ended the conversation with "Talk to you soon"

Total interview lasted for 35 mins.

Hi,

1. How would you differentiate yourself from the other Indian IT applicants?
2. Told me what her concerns about me are and asked if I can justify.

If you can please post ur answers about these questions.

And what do u think, why the person asked the second question, if at all u know.

Regards
- Mohit

Hi Mohit,

Sorry for the delay in my reply. Frankly, I don't really know what to tell you for what I answered to:

1. How would you differentiate yourself from the other Indian IT applicants?

To answer the question, I quoted what is different in my profile, my achievements, my extra-currs etc. Surely, there must be something in you that makes you different and better from others. Give an honest answer. There is no right or wrong answer.

2. Told me what her concerns about me are and asked if I can justify.

Well one of the concerns was that I seemed to have forgotten about the interview . Other concern was related to a specific answer I gave. Not sure how much this would have helped you.

All the best.

Thanks,
Abhishek.
