please consolidate your questions and ask them in a single post....
my timeline
Application submitted: Dec 13
Call for Interview: Jan 8
Interview: Jan 18
Unofficial Ding: Feb 29
Official Ding: Mar 13
And irrespective of the ding I still put HKUST as one of the very good schools in the region - that is the reason I had applied in first place.....
@me_mba
I agree you are unhappy with the school. If you see businessweek forums - they are not looking even for a GMAT score - so 710 (yours or mine) does not matter at all... I am yet to ask for feedback from them but you can ask them on what basis you missed out... I am sure they will reply..
All the best for other applications!!

arvind | Any job in China will require Chinese skills to some extent. Atleast Chinese will help if not being essential. But there are some Indian co.s in HK/Singapore/China that you might be able to break into as well in which case, Chinese might not be required. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to hkust2007 For This Useful Post: | | | | | |

That's a very mature response. Respect you for that. I'd recommend that you try and get a detailed feedback from them at the earliest (you may not get it right away with folks being busy with second round interviews). But do send in a mail and then you can remind them around May time frame to get a feedback from them. You can then determine if it is something you can work around, build up your profile and then give it a shot.

I will definitely ask the adcom about the feedback. But just to keep you posted, I am taking up the NUS offer. But I am really thinking to spend a semester at HKUST as part of exchange program. Lets see how it works out.
All the best to you too for your placements et. all

Randhir,
How is the curriculum for Marketing in HKUST and what is the scope (companies/salaries) of getting a job in Hong Kong. I mean generally, for marketing jobs, companies prefer local people.
Can u give some inputs on this ??
Thanx

arvind | I guess that should have been a 'pressurize you' question. Infact, Tech roles dont require you to know Mandarin. I guess it would have been used to test whether you actually know what you are talking about. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to pitbull For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
