Hello ppl,

All the best to all of you. I'm considering applying to GSB in the 3rd round. I've got an admit from Purdue but my heart is set on a top tier college. Also waitlisted at Stanford.
SO, do u guys think its worth the effort? Will they accept intl. students in R3?The website says they will but i'm jus wonderin...

My profile
GMAT:770
TOEFL:120
Acads:dreadful -B.E (Computers)
Work Ex:2.5 yrs in banking (ICICI)-impressive growth
E.C-only decent.

Worried abt acads and EC. How imp is it at GSB?

I would suggest go ahead and apply, even they chances are not that great. You have got nothing to loose. Standford is the most difficult school to get into. If you have been waitlisted over there, it means that you have got good creds and application.
I would suggest even if you don't get through this year, wait for one more year and get into a top-tier school instead of Purdue, which won't open doors for you to get into premium league.

I would rather not apply in the third round. not only are your chances long but being an international you would be at a distinct disadvantage.

Also Stanford is not known to be a stickler for grades but GSB sure gives a lot of importance to grades and ECs.

Cheers

It's always better to apply rather than repenting later for not trying at all.
But you are young, I would suggest if you can wait for one more year and brush up your extras, you can apply to Chicago R-1 for 09-10. Getting waitlisted at Stanford shows your potential. Purdue is an average college, and may help most if are planning to get into SCM.

All set for tomorrow, R2 people? All day today, 85% of my brain's processing power was directed towards thinking about Chicago. Good luck everyone.

Sigh. The wait!
