Hi puys,

Congrats to all those who have been short listed. It sure is a nice feeling to have after you put in soo much efforts involved in the application process.

Here's my profile:

GMAT: 750 / AWA 5
Work Ex: 2 Yrs in and IT company
Acads: Very Good
Extracurriculars: Decent

Interview details: 25th Oct @ Chennai

Puys,
Can we discuss on the type and range of preperation that each one of us is gonna put in for the interview stage.

As you can see, I dont have much time to prepare. I just plan to read through my application and prepare for the generic questions like Why MBA? Why ISB?... and hope that the questions pertain to my essays and my application..

All d best with your prep.. May the most deserving men and women win!!!

Cheers,
Akx.

I enquired from my friend at ISB. He told me that it should be around 600 for R1.

I think out of 600 (I think it must be more..will explain later) there would be atleast 210 (half of 420)

Also considering a drop out of around 10% before acceptance (have read this somewhere in ISB site), I guess there would be around 235 offers made in R1.

One more point that I can think of is...ISB has a interview to acceptance ratio of 5:1..meaning 1 in every 5 candidates interviewed is offered a seat. Taking that into account, round-1 interview calls should be somewhere in the range of 1175

Re: ISB 2008-2009 Selected for Interview - 17-10-2007, 11:15 PM

Last year ISB received more than 7000 apps...
Also I believe you remember getting an automated mail saying: "Due to unexpectedly high number of applications this year, we would take some time to update your status and please do not mail/contact ISB until then" This makes me believe there are even more applicants this year.

For that matter, I don't see a reason to be either happy or otherwise. In fact those numbers should not matter at all. :satisfie:
All that matters is that you n I have been selected for the interview n we need to give our best shot there ...good luck

Re: ISB 2008-2009 Selected for Interview - 17-10-2007, 11:57 PM

Got an interview call. It was so taxing to wait when messages were coming from all the places !!!

My Profile:

Work Ex : 4.25 ( April 2008 ) - Includes 6 months of Intership ( 1+ is in US)
Industry : IT - ERP Consulting and Business Development
Extra Cur : Avergae
Community Exp : Excellent
GMAT : 730 ( Re-applicant. Last Year rejected without interview with 690]
Interview : 18th Nov
Location : International

I see lot of discussion on number of people shortlisted. I am of opinion that the number stands around 600, after discussion with some current students. Also, I read they will make approx 150 calls n perhaps make a big WaitList.

Anyways, all it matters we all are still in race. Hope to hear from Pune guys soon about the interview experience.

To Complement this Thread for the R1 shortlisted candidates, we can also utilize the yahoo group database to consolidate the PROFILES of shortlisted candidates in a more organized way. Request everyone to update their profiles by clicking below.........

This will help us to contact others who are appearing for interview in the same city, help us in comparing profiles, analyse the pattern/trend in shortlisting etc.
