Hi folks new on forum.

With only 2 days to go wondering wether any invites to interview have been sent. Another question is there any official dicussion blog for applicants to discuss.

Also suggest wether the invites will be sent in one shot on last day or as when application is recievd .

Recieved a mail for applicant survey which said application is under review.

Happy if some body helps.

Thanks

Folks,

I am an aspirant for a 1 year MBA in 2008 as well.

Profile:

Male/27
Gmat: 680
Acad: Avg.
Exp: 7+ in BPO & Remote IT Services

Looking to explore other sectors like Investment Banking etc.

Is LBS something I should be trying for and does my profile seem to be a likely fit or should I be preparing again to give the GMAT?

Kd

LBS is a 2 yr program...

the average GMAT score at LBS is 690. So, I think your gmat score is fine, as long as your job profile and career progression is in the upward swing. European MBA put more emphasis on your experience, potential and achievements than gmat score when compared to US schools (of course, this is a relative comparison).

Two things to keep in mind:
1) Try to get your application in before the R2 deadline.

2) Work on your essays diligently: they can make or break your application. All of us have similar profiles: decent gmat scores, 2-4 yrs work ex, usually in IT/engineering. So we need to differentiate from each other, and the essays are the best chance to do that.

good luck...

I don't know much about MIF, but i believe that if you do MIF, you pretty much are looking for finance job. However with a MBA you have much more options. But I don't know whether you become more attractive to investment banks or not with MIF.

Also, if you really want to go into finance, I think it might be better to do the CFA. This qualification won't help you in the short-run, but in the long-term it is pretty useful in the finance field (my personal thoughts).
