Hi.. I could be late with this.. but here is what I did with the Financial Statement thingie..
Contact your local banks, like SBI, Dena bank, Bank of India etc..( NOT ICICI or HDFC.. they dont entertain such things)... most of our parents may have an account in one of these banks... so they have good relations with the manager...
ask them for a solvency certificate... i personally got a cerfiticate saying that my parents were solvent to the extent of Rs. 20 lacs( that is not to say that I had the money in the bank.. just an account with their bank, that has some money for some years).. and that my parents will finance my mba..
u need not worry about the authenticity of that certificate, as there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the page, saying that the bank is not responsible if the certificate holder has provided misleading information..
depending on the bank and the manager, one could be charged anywhere between Rs 500 to 1200 for the certificates( make a draft, and then just change the b school names on top of each page)...i personally got 7 certis for 800 bucks..
FYI, professional counsellors who have a tie up with certain banks charge upto Rs 1500 for the first certificate, and Rs 100/200(not sure ) for every additional certi..

I am planning to apply to Nanyang. I have already sent my application for NUS and certain other american B-schools

My profile is as follows:
GMAT - 720 (51,35,5.5)
Work Ex - 4 yrs by August........... in financial services
plus entrepreneurial experience - own education services firm

I havent been ablew to find much info about Nanyang. Can people on the board help me out... What is the total intake, how many countries are represented... what are the various clubs etc etc..... Any idea about placements at Nanyang

whoa ! things r going really really laidback on the NTU front

Its Jan end and even now i see just one guy with an admit and less than 10 who have applied .....
Inspite of NTU admissions being rolling i don't understand why guys don't want to utilize the early bird advantage

its not the question of early bird ...
i think this time its the question of nanyang responding fast..
i know a number of people who have submitted their apps in early nov, and have not even received an interview call... forget an admit.
so i disagree with ur view that people are not utilizing the early bird advantage.

Agreed with your point... last year nanyang started giving calls by March... So I am not expecting anything atleast before feb end... NUS has started giving calls (although I havent received any)
